I live in one of the most "behind" areas for covid vaccination - I am waiting for dh to have his vaccination as he is in one of the vulnerable age groups & has health issues. A friend in a county nearby has had their vaccine - in her 60's & as far as I know no health problems. I am not jealous just concerned for dh

@notacooldad

I've had mine done and I'm 55. My boss is 46 and she's been done. My friend was done last week and she is 49.

Why didnt you just say, we are care workers so are in group 2?
Your ‘age post’ is misleading

JengaJanga · 31/01/2021 00:11

Quote didnt work!

BadEyeBri · 31/01/2021 00:15

My mum and dad have appointments for vaccination on Monday. They are in 65-70 category. N.Ireland.

Lastbonestanding · 31/01/2021 00:20

65 - 70 years

Chesneyhawkes1 · 31/01/2021 00:25

I'm Bedfordshire and classed as CEV. Aged 42. Going tomorrow

halloween88 · 31/01/2021 00:48

Over 80's and over 70's CV

Ponoka7 · 31/01/2021 04:26

I've had mine, ECV. My Sister has just booked hers, she's over 65. Merseyside.

@QuantumQuality, each area has different population levels. If the uptake is poor, or they are efficient, then they should be moving on to the next group. Or it would be a case of stopping vaccinations and waiting for areas with higher populations, or difficulty in organisation, to catch up.

I booked for a less easily reachable away vaccination centre and got the next day. Otherwise I would have waited five days.

orangejuicer · 31/01/2021 08:38

DP's dad, 74, appointment on Monday. Liskeard way.

Scarby9 · 31/01/2021 08:42

70+ North Yorkshire and Northumberland.

MRex · 31/01/2021 08:56

SW London. I just looked up and that was really interesting. It said our group of GP practices are doing 70-75 plus any remaining 75-80, CEV not mentioned. The number they vaccinated looks to be over 10% of the numbers registered at those 5 surgeries, so perhaps more older people in the area than I expected. The website says that they phone down a list from the GPs for an appointment and if someone doesn't answer they are top of the call list the next day. They are doing a mix of Pfizer and Oxford Astrazeneca depending on what comes in.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 31/01/2021 08:58

From what I gather, 70+.
SW London.

Woofsaidtheladybird · 31/01/2021 09:12

Am in Buckinghamshire... they're starting on the over 75s tomorrow... seems very behind in comparison to lots of posts here! I'm CEV and 48 and not heard a thing...

MRex · 31/01/2021 09:16

@Woofsaidtheladybird - you could try logging into the NHS booking site to see if there are any other options for you?
www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/coronavirus-vaccination/book-coronavirus-vaccination/

Mintjulia · 31/01/2021 09:18

My neighbour, 72, had her jab this week.

Woofsaidtheladybird · 31/01/2021 09:19

Thanks MRex - but they say not to contact unless you've had a letter?
I'm super frustrated though - I'm a nurse but now work in academia.. am desperate to DO SOMETHING but we're all working and lecturing from home... I had covid early last year so basically have been nowhere for a year. I want my vaccine so I can help with vaccinating! Aargh..Confused

Thank you! Xxxxxxxxx

notacooldad · 31/01/2021 09:33

@mumwoni haven't a clue what ages are being called in my area, I just got a text message with a time and info to go.

Treaclepie19 · 31/01/2021 09:36

My parents (68 and almost 71) are having theirs today Smile

Rillington · 31/01/2021 09:50

Group 4 over 70's and CEV. I am CEV and having mine this week. I know of over 80's though who haven't heard anything still.

mrsjoyfulprizeforraffiawork · 31/01/2021 10:06

NE London/Essex border here. It is 70s upwards here but yesterday (Saturday), my sister (69) got a text offering an appt SAME DAY and got hers that afternoon. There were at least 12 vaccinators, quite a few idle as presumably not enough patients had responded(4.30 pm). Horrible to think that they probably had to waste some doses. Unfortunately I am 3 yrs younger but now my phone always with me in hopes of a similar last minute text.

Jellybean27 · 31/01/2021 10:25

I haven’t read through the entire thread, so may have already been mentioned - but the NHS vaccination website is now allowing CEV to book in. It asks for date of birth and NHS number.

LucyLockdown · 31/01/2021 10:30

My elderly relatives are in Scotland and none of them have been done. They are in their 70s and one is shielding.

Local surgery in one area said they are still working through the over 80s.

There's no way they're going to be done by mid Feb.

LucyLockdown · 31/01/2021 10:32

And by the way the link doesn't work for Scotland, only for England. Scotland is getting left behind and nobody cares right now, but they will when we can't open up again as a section of the population hasn't been vaccinated.

daisypond · 31/01/2021 10:36

My very elderly parents -late 80s- have just got their letter for vaccination next week. North Yorkshire. I’m in London and we are way behind.
