I live in one of the most "behind" areas for covid vaccination - I am waiting for dh to have his vaccination as he is in one of the vulnerable age groups & has health issues. A friend in a county nearby has had their vaccine - in her 60's & as far as I know no health problems. I am not jealous just concerned for dh

I've had mine done and I'm 55. My boss is 46 and she's been done. My friend was done last week and she is 49.

flumposie · 30/01/2021 00:36

North Yorkshire. I had mine on Thursday ( 49 and cev) with 70 year olds.

ThatDamnKrampus · 30/01/2021 00:40

I've had mine done today - I'm an unpaid carer and was told by someone who isn't the most reliable person that our vaccine centre was just accepting walk ups if they were carers (I wasnt convinced but went along with my letter for CA and got my jab the security guard passed me in)...feel really guilty as I should only be group 6 with asthma and as a carer so some way off.

When I tried to book online it wouldn't let me.

Allmyarseandpeggymartin · 30/01/2021 09:18

@ThatDamnKrampus Don’t feel guilty you are protecting the person you care for. It’s the least that society can do for you for your contribution Flowers

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 30/01/2021 09:27

My 77 year old dad is having it today.

ittakes2 · 30/01/2021 09:36

We are SE and have two vaccine centres nearby, my m'n'law is 74 and a diabetic has just been called to have her's this Wed. My husband said someone he worked with seemed to think his village is starting with over 60s as his neighbour is done...but I also think there an element of friends and family getting left over vaccines on the day and due to back lash I wonder if some people are saying they have been called up but its really they know of someone who had left over vaccine.

Ceara · 30/01/2021 09:42

Still on the over 80s where my DM lives (south west). She is in the over 75s group.

HairyFloppins · 30/01/2021 09:44

Over 70s and CEV here in North Staffs.

WanderingMilly · 30/01/2021 09:47

Late 70s here. I don't hold out much hope of things going quickly round here....they sent me a letter 2 weeks ago to call me up for my flu' jab.
Glad I paid to have one privately last Autumn then....

ExeterMummaMia · 30/01/2021 09:48

70+ with CEV at same time here. No words on any groups below that.

ProfessorPootle · 30/01/2021 09:49

My mum is 74 and ECV but no vaccine yet, friend down the road is in her 30s and has asthma and has had the vaccine! My sister is 40s frontline NHS and not had hers yet. We’re in an area that’s behind, seems a bit hit and miss round here!

Waxonwaxoff0 · 30/01/2021 09:50

Over 70s are having theirs done, not sure about ECV.

TheFluffiestCat · 30/01/2021 09:51

My parents (74) have just been called. FIL (75) had his yesterday.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 30/01/2021 10:32

Both dad and fil have their second dose booked as well

Unsure33 · 30/01/2021 10:35

My husband is mid 60 and cv and he has been told about 2 weeks

TottiePlantagenet · 30/01/2021 10:40

Berkshire, 78yr old Dad with medical conditions getting his today!

TheLastUNIC0RN · 30/01/2021 10:46

My parents got theirs yesterday. 68/69
They are still working through Over 70s at GP surgeries but opened up the 65-69 age group at mass vaccination centres on Thursday. I'm NI.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 30/01/2021 10:48

My parents area 65+
No idea in mine. It's so far away for us as to be irrelevant.

Chickenqueen · 30/01/2021 10:49

65+! Live in London.

mumwon · 30/01/2021 10:50

basically if you are in the age group being vaccinated locally if you can travel you can book on line for the nearest mass vaccination via the NHS website -its a good idea to do this as it frees up the local sites for people who can't travel far & need vaccinations- they will get contacted when there are appointments available
Basically the list becomes shorter for them locally
Its a win win situation - so some of the people who have received the vaccination may have travelled to the mass vaccination sites

70+ and CEV here, I had mine yesterday (CEV.) I was told our area were behind but my GP surgery started doing them and absolutely burned through the age groups, when the local big hub is still a little behind, so it may be by venue, too.

RosesforMama · 30/01/2021 10:51

Mum is 80 and was done last Tuesday after we booked on her behalf. Still not had her NHS letter (no mobile phone). Suffolk.

MiddlesexGirl · 30/01/2021 10:52

Over 70s. And some school staff seem to be called in for the short notice ones Hmm

louisejxxx · 30/01/2021 10:54

I’m in Worcs and my parents who are 70 are booked in for theirs on Tuesday.

Jinglealltheway22 · 30/01/2021 10:56

South Warwickshire.

We are group 4 - over 70's and CEV.

I think it depends on how each area is rolling out. If the area is focussing on care homes and thousands housebound, without also running lots of clinics, then the roll out takes much longer, but then should snowball as they move on.

In our town all the GP practises used one hub for their patients and then did care Homes alongside, so were able to keep moving through the priority groups whilst simultaneously doing care homes.

It meant it took longer to do care homes but they are flying through the groups. Much faster to vaccinate if people travel to a hub,

As said upthread, anyone over 70 or CEV should be checking the NHS booking system daily until it lets you book.

You can't book unless eligible, so you aren't jumping the queue. Better the vaccines are given to the priority groups than random passers because they have left over doses.
