what age group are having the covid vaccine in your area?

I live in one of the most "behind" areas for covid vaccination - I am waiting for dh to have his vaccination as he is in one of the vulnerable age groups & has health issues. A friend in a county nearby has had their vaccine - in her 60's & as far as I know no health problems. I am not jealous just concerned for dh

No areas should be doing 65-70 year olds unless they are CEV. There is very clear national policy on this.

JulesJules · 30/01/2021 10:58

I'm in the NE. We were apparently doing too well at vaccinating and had half the number of vaccines due to be delivered diverted to other regions. I only know of my neighbour (in her 90s) my Dad (80) and my sister (NHS) who have all had one dose. I'm CEV, haven't heard anything. I think it's highly unlikely that we will get all the top 4 groups vaccinated in the next two weeks.

Timeturnerplease · 30/01/2021 11:00

75+ only here. They told MIL (71) it would be end of Feb for her at earliest.

RosesforMama · 30/01/2021 11:01

@notacooldad

I've had mine done and I'm 55. My boss is 46 and she's been done. My friend was done last week and she is 49.
These people (not you, you are group 9) are group 10 unless they also have other risk factors or work in care or NHS, so no idea how they have been done.
Moonbabyskalimba · 30/01/2021 11:04

I'm in Merseyside and DP's uncle (71) has had his

ineedaholidaynow · 30/01/2021 11:06

@notacooldad are you all in healthcare?

schimmelreiter · 30/01/2021 11:06

NE and they are vaccinating 70+ and CEV at the centre near my house

JulesJules · 30/01/2021 11:28

Apart from anecdotal evidence, how do you find out where they're up to with vaccinations? There's nothing on my GPs website for example, just says don't contact us, you'll get a letter or text when you can book an appointment.

Moderngirl2409 · 30/01/2021 11:33

Scotland, small village of 2000 people.
Over 70s were being done this past couple of days. Only anecdotal, as a 73 year relation had theirs yesterday.

HalfDutchGirl · 30/01/2021 11:46

South West Hampshire area - 70+ age group being done, plus front line workers etc.

I'm working at a vaccine hub and everyone I checked in yesterday was 70+
Athinginitself · 30/01/2021 11:53

My dad 73 has been booked in for his next week-west midlands-local hub.

Delatron · 30/01/2021 12:07

The 46 and 49 year olds must be CEV? How is any area doing that age group when most are still on over 70s?

mummyof2boys30 · 30/01/2021 12:24

Northern ireland - gp surgeries (78 year old still hasnt received a date)
Vaccine centres - 65 to 69 years

NeedWineNow · 30/01/2021 12:56

I think we're on over 70's in our area - we're in Kent. My mum in SE London had hers yesterday - she's 84 - and was told she will get a call in 7-10 weeks for her second jab.

Wherediditgo · 30/01/2021 13:26

70+ here. My mom gets hers on Sunday and she is 71. West Midlands.

notacooldad · 30/01/2021 14:31

@notacooldad are you all in healthcare?
No we are in social care. We are in group 2.

DirtyDancing · 30/01/2021 20:09

Apparently, all 70+ can now book directly- no letter required. This is from another MN post.

86 year old MIL in Wales not heard anything yet despite numerous calls to GP

Cherrysherbet · 30/01/2021 20:14

My mum is having hers tomorrow. She’s 75.

JengaJanga · 30/01/2021 21:04

Ours has been closed all week and priority group 1 is not even completed!
Joke!!!

If they are CEV then it’s all group 4 ( them and overs 70s) ... in our area they are doing group 4 now and seem to be calling CEV before over 70s ..... I presume because a healthy over 70 would be less at risk than CEV... but don’t quote me !
RuthW · 30/01/2021 22:24

We are calling 70-74 and shielding.

JumboShiitake · 30/01/2021 22:34

@mumwon

basically if you are in the age group being vaccinated locally if you can travel you can book on line for the nearest mass vaccination via the NHS website -its a good idea to do this as it frees up the local sites for people who can't travel far & need vaccinations- they will get contacted when there are appointments available Basically the list becomes shorter for them locally Its a win win situation - so some of the people who have received the vaccination may have travelled to the mass vaccination sites
100% this.

My DP is still registered with a GP surgery in a different area and he was able to book into a local hub. I assume this allows someone else registered with his GP to take his place in the "queue".

MoirasRoses · 30/01/2021 23:20

70+ here is West Yorkshire.
