Anyone else out there still (if you have at all) wiping their food shopping down with bleach/disinfectant etc? I am and I’ve got to say it’s driving me insane but I know it would worry me if I didn’t?!

Thanks for explaining but...
I think you’re overthinking how much contact a cashier or (someone stocking) gets with your goods!
It’s a fast paced experience both times.
I’ve yet to see a cashier fondle the shopping / or anyone out back for that matter! 😂
I don’t think l could scent your cauliflower with my perfume even if l wore it down my bra all day![/quote]
I have noticed it is only sometimes, and always from the same supermarket, first time it was when people were making their own sanitisers and adding essential oils, it smells a bit like patchouli oil. Some tills would smell very fragrant until the ready made stuff was back in stock, all kinds of perfumes. Did wonder if it might be something that is for sale that has leaked, but the same perfume every time over several months, not so sure.

A pair of cauliflowers might look more balanced Grin

Yes I do, doesn’t bother me now, it’s just be one part of the shopping routine. I’m in the CV category, so if it protects me a bit more then I’m happy to do it.

@PinkSparklyPussyCat

Doesn't bleach affect you if you're that sensitive to odours *@SlopesOff*? Even a weak bleach solution smells vile.
Unless bleach is used to excess I can cope with it, if it contains Febreeze type stuff I can't cope with it at all.

A small squirt is fine but large amounts irritate a fair bit. On the basis that it is meant to kill most things I will use a little spray on a cloth to clean things (door handles etc.) but not a perfumed sanitizer when I am out, hence using isopropanol alcohol which is not perfumed.

I can't use stuff like Zoflora, it seems to be the perfume that is the problem but even then not all perfumes, depends what is in it.

Plus open windows to let it out.

My entire life has come to a standstill. Click and collect day is as exciting as it gets. 15 minutes with the radio on wiping it all down is 15 minutes away from the thankless task of tweaking my cv for shitty jobs that are 8 hour a week contracts paying minimum wage.
I live alone. Have no support bubble as I fibt know anyone local. I don't see anyone at all so my risk is minimal, so I have all the boredom and time in the world to wipe down my shopping.

If I was still working, socialising, home schooling and trying to catch my breath then maybe I wouldn't but I've all the time in the world and little purpose to my life anymore so it gives me something different to do for 15 minutes once every 10 days or so.

Easily fixed. Give that supermarket a swerve, if it's that smelly.

@DumpedWife Fair enough, you wipe whatever the hell you want as life sounds shit for you at the moment. Things will change and get back to normal, life will be good again.
