Do you feel sorry for Boris?

Seeing the headlines in the papers today and there seems a lot of sympathy for him. The front pages see him looking really forlorn and sorrow regarding the death toll.

When you think a year ago he was planning on ushering in what he deemed as a golden age of Britain. Now 12 months later it's in tatters.

I can understand the sympathy, but wonder whether a Labour PM would be offered the same.

The only thing Boris hasn't fucked up (yet) is his relationship with the mother of his latest child.

All we the plebs do is sit here waiting for the latest U-turn or dithering ill-thought out decision.

Starmer is also completely useless, so I'm not just Tory-bashing.

Anyway Boris will be ousted in the election after this biological war, just like his political idol in 1945.

AllTheWayFromLondonDAMN · 27/01/2021 16:45

No, he’s a grifter. He also isn’t sad.... or if he is, it’s only because he’s not been able to be the star he thinks he was born to be.

In the words of Stormzy: fuck the government and fuck Boris.

peboh · 27/01/2021 16:45

No. That boy deserves no sympathy from me.

poppyzbrite4 · 27/01/2021 16:48

@UseOfWeapons

Yes, I do, I feel sorry for anyone trying to manage a difficult situation like this. No matter who was in charge, no matter what they did, there’d still be huge numbers of people who were adamant it was all wrong.
A few days ago the UK had the highest death rate in the world. The situation obviously wasn't managed at all. That's gross incompetence.
poppyzbrite4 · 27/01/2021 16:51
@poppyzbrite4 what you believe he soley made the decision to send people to care homes? He had no advice whatsoever just woke up and said , right this is what I will do?
Apparently that's his policy yes, unless you have evidence to the contrary.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/01/2021 16:53

@donewithitalltodayandxmas, here, when he first took over.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/01/2021 16:56

And another here.

CeibaTree · 27/01/2021 16:57

No, and his attempt to gaslight the nation last night was absolutely laughable.

derxa · 27/01/2021 16:57

Anyone with half a brain could have worked out they should have been tested first. Yet nobody thought of it? Seriously? Nicola Sturgeon and Jeane Freeman didn't think of it either.

wewillmeetagain · 27/01/2021 16:58

OP that was a bit of a silly question to ask on the notoriously Tory hating mumsnet🙄

sansucre · 27/01/2021 16:59

@cheeseismydownfall

Johnson (I refuse to call him Boris, he is our Prime Mister, not a fucking adorably dishevelled teddy bear) had delivered exactly what we should have expected of him based on his career up to this point.

I think the responsibility for this shit show goes far beyond him - it is the responsibility of the Conservative party who appointed him as leader, the opposition party who failed to deliver anything approaching a viable alternative, and the electorate who voted for him.

When someone tells you who they are, listen. Never has that been more true than for Boris Johnson.

Absolutely this

yes yes yes. his pity is all for himself because being 'world king' didn't turn out to be wall to wall coke, hookers and back handers after all.
IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 27/01/2021 17:01

Yeah it's our sheer ideological belligerence isn't it? Not that fact that this government's standout achievement has been to kill more people than any other nation, while simultaneously fucking the economy over via Brexit.

Frazzled99 · 27/01/2021 17:01

And yet I'm sure all of you lot are spouting the 'be kind' message when the next person in the public eye commits suicide. Yes he's made mistakes, but believe me government is made up of more than one person. I should know, I work for them. But he's a human being ffs. Quit with your hate from behind the keyboards. Some of these comments are VILE.

is there any particular reason why posters on a parenting website would be all that fond of a political party that has brought child poverty to 30% and rising?
Impatiens · 27/01/2021 17:05

Some of these comments are VILE

But none are near as VILE as Johnson himself - a corrupt, lying coward and fake. I feel sick looking at him, knowing the catastrophe he's responsible for.

Cam77 · 27/01/2021 17:05

Nope. I think given the extent to which he has failed to protect public health AND the fact the economy was the worst hit on the G20, AND all the obvious blunders made, he has been given an easy ride. A Labour PM would have faced loud, angry and insistent calls to resign, which he hasnt.

Want to put odds on him reading this?

I think mismanaging a pandemic, making money off it and killing 100,000 people is VILE.
megletthesecond · 27/01/2021 17:07

Nope.
He's an arrogant, privileged tosser who thinks he can impress people just because he can speak a bit of Latin. Out of his depth. Only cares about his wealthy chums, not civilians.

Frazzled99 · 27/01/2021 17:08

@IncludeWomenInTheSequel oh so that makes it ok then. MN is full of hate, I'm done. Hope everyone enjoys tearing people to shreds.

Pan2 · 27/01/2021 17:08

Nope. Non.

He is a vile individual. Zero redeeming feature.

Him and his corrupt little friends should fuck off.

Yes, it’s so vile when people say what they think, isn’t it? It’s a lot more vile for the 100,000 bereaved families.
Frazzled99 · 27/01/2021 17:09

@poppyzbrite4 yes because I'm sure that's what he set out to do and was the plan all along.

AnnaFiveTowns · 27/01/2021 17:11

No. He's lazy and incompetent and should never have been PM.
