Do you feel sorry for Boris?

Seeing the headlines in the papers today and there seems a lot of sympathy for him. The front pages see him looking really forlorn and sorrow regarding the death toll.

When you think a year ago he was planning on ushering in what he deemed as a golden age of Britain. Now 12 months later it's in tatters.

I can understand the sympathy, but wonder whether a Labour PM would be offered the same.

I don't feel sorry for people whose actions and inactions have led to large numbers of completely avoidable deaths, not at all.

poppyzbrite4 · 27/01/2021 16:18

@PhilCornwall1

I'd have no problem unplugging his life support to charge my phone.
Smile
MadameButterface · 27/01/2021 16:18

no, he's a cunt. banged the Brexit drum, not expecting to win, except oh shit they did. wanted to be PM, but not then, because he didn't want to deal with the mess he'd helped create. hung back so Theresa May would do the hard bit and cop the flak. then took his place in the sun (so he thought). talk about be careful what you wish for. incompetent fuck. he should be in prison for treason.

dottiedodah · 27/01/2021 16:18

No one is saying BJ is perfect ,but he has been dealing with a dreadful situation that no one Govt could have foreseen ,and dealt with perfectly.He has been ill as well , has tried hard to deal with the situation as best he can .He has also followed advice from his own Scientific Advisors who frankly could have done better! Yes he is a wealthy and privileged chap but surely he is entitled to a personal life as well?! No one can or should work non stop !

VinylDetective · 27/01/2021 16:20

You know what they say about people in holes @dottiedodah? Just stop digging, please. For your own sake.

tinytemper66 · 27/01/2021 16:20

He should resign and his cabinet. Only problem then is which shower of shit would replace them.

Tried hard to deal with the situation as best he can?

I can't even fade typing out the list of things he has got wrong, wilfully, because he doesn't care or can't be arse or would rather enrich his mates.

Words fucking fail me. This is why the cunt will be re-elected.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/01/2021 16:20

@derxa

Keir Starmer offered to work with the government. BoZo refused.

I'm not disagreeing with you.
The truth is we all sleep walked into this. I was at a big funeral last February. At my table there was a couple who had just come back from the rugby in Rome. I had a niggling worry about it but generally thought surely it won't be as bad as Italy. Of course that was an incredibly stupid notion.

I discussed it at work and with friends at the time. We all agreed that people coming back needed to isolate (they were actually told they were fine to go out until they got symptoms) and that we should stop some / most international travel.

We were horrified by Cheltenham going ahead and the Madrid fans coming over in early March.

If we were concerned by what we could see, why weren't the government at least isolating people coming back, if nothing else?

It's been mismanaged since Feb half term at the very least. Maybe longer.

HazeyJaneII · 27/01/2021 16:20

No

CeaseAndDesist · 27/01/2021 16:21

@dottiedodah

He also has had to deal with the arrival of a new baby .And on top of sleepless nights probably doesnt get as much time with his attractive fiancee as he would like .Pressures of office maybe ? Yes ,but also dont forget his nightly messages in the first LD leading to his own Covid infection .As my cousin says if we had had JC in then, and he had been ill we could have been left with the delightfully innumerate Diane Abbot!
Jesus fucking Christ. I've never read such inanity.

No wonder this country is screwed.

NoWordForFluffy · 27/01/2021 16:22

Where the fuck did you get that idea from?! I'm embarrassed for you. 🤦‍♀️

Notnowokay · 27/01/2021 16:22

I feel sorry for all the people suffering in this pandemic. I can’t help as many people as he can. I hope he does the right thing later on today.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 27/01/2021 16:26

@includewomeninsequel no there is a lot of hate , just read some of the comments but when people are questioned on something they write , they ignore it as often have nothing to back it up .
Unplugging life support I would say thats quite a nasty comment

TalskiddyTreacleMiner · 27/01/2021 16:26

Zero sympathy. Nada. Zillch. He's the shittest PM the country has had in living memory.

He was ill because he ran around saying it wasn't any worse than flu and shook people's hands in a ward with covid patients. (I believe your posts are a wind up as they sound like something from the Daily Mail.) He was also solely responsible for sending elderly covid patients back into care homes because the sacrifice "will be losing a few grannies" and he was relying on herd immunity.

He also went against the advice of Patel to close down the airports. He then gave his mates with no previous experience, a blank cheque to provide PPE, which wasn't forth coming, to develop a failed track and trace system and didn't listen to advice on lockdowns.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 27/01/2021 16:28

@NoWordForFluffy do you have a link for that where he said he would work? Genuinely interested as I had high hopes for kier but not so sure now ?

VinylDetective · 27/01/2021 16:28

It originated from someone saying Priti Patel would do it. I reckon she would too.

Oreservoir · 27/01/2021 16:28

No.
Hes a tit.

PhilCornwall1 · 27/01/2021 16:29

Unplugging life support I would say thats quite a nasty comment

Oh, I'd say it's more than "quite nasty". Honest though.

InglouriousBasterd · 27/01/2021 16:29

A little. DD and I were watching PMQs earlier and there was a brief moment where he looked devastated. Unless he deserves an Oscar, that was real. Anything he does will divide opinion - look at any thread on here, some want harder lockdown / others want complete easing of restrictions; some want schools closed / others open. I’d bloody hate to be in his position.

However he is incompetent, lazy and self- serving - he manipulated his way to the premiership and now is reaping what he sows.

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 27/01/2021 16:29

@poppyzbrite4 what you believe he soley made the decision to send people to care homes? He had no advice whatsoever just woke up and said , right this is what I will do?

derxa · 27/01/2021 16:30

@PhilCornwall1

I'd have no problem unplugging his life support to charge my phone.
No doubt a lot will agree with you but really... ? Hmm
donewithitalltodayandxmas · 27/01/2021 16:30

@PhilCornwall1 being honest doesn't make you a nice person

SunsetSenora · 27/01/2021 16:30

It would not be great to be in this position for anyone. Unfortunately we went into this with an arrogant dolt who has nothing to offer but superficial bluster. I bet he is sorry at the moment, but dont believe it is for anyone except himself.
