If you are in any doubt ring the doctor or 111, like pp said better a wasted phone call.

dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 17:29

Thanks so much

Rang 111 but they said it was just a service to check if you have symptoms
Not sure if I should ring doctor again

He is day 8/9 I think
Sleepy today
Less coughing
Eating more
97 oxygen sats
What you think guys?

Sorry to keep asking my brain is not working well right now xxxxxx

97 is a good sats reading. If it continues to drop speak to his gp. If it starts to dip below 95 then he needs to go to hospital to get checked out.

dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 17:49

Ok thank you

Someone told me today that they thought it was a mild illness in the first few days, but had some really frightening breathlessness in the days after that. They did get better and didn’t have to go to hospital though.

dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 18:26

Yes started off ok for him
Bit of a cough
Then he could not walk
Scary

Hope he will be ok
Day two of antibiotics

SeaToSki · 21/01/2021 00:35

Encourage him to take deep breaths for two of three breaths about once an hour. Tell him to imagine he is trying to get the air to the bottom of his lungs right by his tummy button, not just in and out a little in his chest. It will help

dublingirl66 · 21/01/2021 02:20

Fab tip

Thank you

Really helped hearing some of these great suggestions along with calling gp etc

As we go on I hope he gets stronger each day

I hope you're ALL feeling much better soon x

PS how do you think you got it? I understand your warnings, but I'm not sure what more I can do to try not to get it? You sounds like you were careful, so just curious how you think you might have got it!!

105 year old lady on the TV the other day, she's just got over it xx

HmmSureJan · 21/01/2021 03:13

Family member was in hospital and got it there

I had been shopping once a week in a small quiet shop
So can't rule that out but usually it was me and the shopkeeper in the shop at one time

Stay safe all and those who are sick I pray you feel better soon

He is up and about
Nasty nasty heavy cough
Gave him some of a cough bottle

Ate a huge lunch

OP posts:
Porcupineintherough · 21/01/2021 14:35

I was just coming on to ask how he was doing today. That sounds really positive. Just keep checking his SATS but it sounds as though he may have turned the corner.

dublingirl66 · 21/01/2021 14:46

It does doesn't it ?

Day 9 for him

Still very weak but good sats so far and looks so much better

Yesterday he declined so quickly and was v v ill
