Can you get zinc lozenges and vit d and c. All of them help your immune system to fight. You can take 6000 iui of vit d a day for a week, vit c you can take loads of and zinc lozenges - follow the directions on the packet, but let them dissolve really slowly in your mouth and coat your throat. Run a humidifier if you can, I put mint and eucalyptus essential oils in it. Keep everyone hydrated and eat what you can

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 11:11

Did you speak to a doctor? He may need steroids rather than antibiotics but they can advise you.

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 14:16

Yes absolutely

Sorry that's what I meant to type

Brain fuzzy

I think we are all trying to avoid it, no one is actively trying not to avoid it.

Hope you feel better soon

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 14:34

I mean try to avoid going out as much as you can

Friends who stayed at home a lot picked it up from a shopping trip
They had been so careful

That's what I meant

DrCindyPops · 19/01/2021 16:56

Did your df get steroids prescribed?
Hope he has & they manage to help him.
I know our gp wouldn't prescribe antibiotics for covid but has given steroids to people who are badly affected.

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 17:20

My g p would only give us antibiotics

Let's hope that helps

He said to be watching my father carefully as things can go down hill at the start of the 2nd week 😢😢😢😢

OP posts:
dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 19:25

Evenings can be worse too I'm finding

How about others?? Xxxx

OP posts:
DrCindyPops · 19/01/2021 20:19

I really hope he feels better soon for you. My df has also had covid & it took around 3 weeks for him to feel better. Thankfully he was never ill enough to need to go to hospital but we were worried he would need to a couple of times. I know the worry is awful Thanks

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 22:24

Aww just awful
Horrible to seem them like this

How is he now?

It takes its toil

Poor OP. hope you start feeling better soon.

BrettAndersonscheekbones · 19/01/2021 22:37

Oh god, I came on here looking for other people's experiences. I'm on day 8 and cannot recall ever feeling this unwell. The top-to-toe body pain and fatigue. It's just me and 2 teens, just sobbed in front of daughter as feel so awful.

dottiedaisee · 19/01/2021 22:39

OP .I hope you are feeling better and that your father has been prescribed ABs and preferably as a liquid rather than capsules. I had Covid over Christmas and most of my colleagues .We are all ok and most of us are back at work. Out of 40 of us absolutely no one was hospitalised so really try and think positive. Try and concentrate on breathing normally and watch your sats if below 94/95%. If your father is distressed or his sats nosedive call 999 . Do you have a Covid virtual clinic locally? Ask your gp surgery tomorrow and they can give you the contact number.💐

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 23:11

@BrettAndersonscheekbones so sorry to hear this

It does get better
Takes time

My father got tablets for his antibiotics
All still very weak here

Sob in the evenings about it all xxxx

This exact thing happened to me, I felt weird flu like symptoms, then had this horrid day then it was like I had another desperate illness, like a bad bug.

Tomorrow is my last day of isolation and I think I’m back to normal now. It gets better for lot of people xx

dublingirl66 · 19/01/2021 23:18

Today is my last day of isolation thankfully

Just wish headache would go

Yes, I always felt worse in the evening.
dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 14:52

Ughhhhhh

Ah guys please let this all pass ASAP

My dads cough bad today

Oxygen sats 96 to 97
Sleepy

Eating and drinking lots

OP posts:
dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 15:20

At what point do I get more help for him !
Or wait and see as I hope this is just him getting through it slowly

OP posts:
ifonly4 · 20/01/2021 15:41

If in doubt, I'd at least phone the doctor, if not, 111. They can either reassure you, or get your Dad checked over. Better to have a wasted call.

dublingirl66 · 20/01/2021 16:34

Ok thank you
He is sleepy now weak

Oxygen sats 99

OP posts:
girlofthenorth · 20/01/2021 16:58

antibiotics might take a while to work but if you are worried at all just call 111 back about your dad.
For you the headache might persist for a while but hopefully you will be on the mend - it makes a difference when you stop isolating.
