Have I missed anything?

There’s a message on the gov site saying there’s been an issue.

EndoplasmicReticulum · 14/01/2021 19:36

They have found another sofa with cases down the side?

OK thanks!

I was also wondering this, it's usually around 5pm isn't it?

I hope the issue isn't too serious, or another spreadsheet error.

StealthPolarBear · 14/01/2021 19:38

Issue updating deaths apparently

TheoriginalLEM · 14/01/2021 19:39

Yeah, its all been a big fuck.up and covid doesn't exist, its just another cold

TokyoSushi · 14/01/2021 19:40

Hopefully they've not 'found' some data again.

Any data analyst out there will feel nothing but empathy, nothing like trying to do your job with old tech and half the country over your shoulder!

Dodie66 · 14/01/2021 19:44

New cases are there but no death figures

Please tell me this is sarcastic...
StealthPolarBear · 14/01/2021 19:48

Absolutely. Imagine knowing the PM press release depends on your figures!

Yep

Frazzled2207 · 14/01/2021 20:02

the new case figures are not too bad (slightly higher than yesterday but much lower than last week) but I think the death figures might be (even more) tragically high

I've got in my head they may be so high they are re checking all the data to make sure its right? That's probably my imagination running away with me :-(

@hettyhooverdoover
I know in the past when numbers have been late the case numbers, if not necessarily the death numbers, have been extremely high, presumably because they were checking, so yeah I can believe it

RaggieDolls · 14/01/2021 20:12

PHE have updated case numbers on their Twitter feed.....48,682, so it isn't unusually high case numbers holding up the dashboard update.

PinkSparklyPussyCat · 14/01/2021 20:19

I saw that the figures published yesterday contained deaths dating back to September and October, there was even one for May. Why does it take so long to publish some?

starrynight19 · 14/01/2021 20:22

A worry when deaths data is being held up for this length of time.

AaronPurr · 14/01/2021 20:33

Definitely. I'm hoping it's just a technical error, but a delay usually brings bad news.
Randomschoolworker19 · 14/01/2021 21:04

I'm expecting it to be terrible. 2000+ deaths I reckon.... Sad

MrsShelton · 14/01/2021 21:06

did wonder why its so late!

Thatwentbadly · 14/01/2021 21:08

They’ve ran out of space on excel.

Dongdingdong · 14/01/2021 21:11

Maybe because all the vaccinating hubs have better things to do than count up figures, like you know...um, vaccinating people?

Marley20 · 14/01/2021 21:15

@Dongdingdong

Why would the vaccination hubs be putting together the daily death figures?
