Do you think the lockdown will end mid February

I personally think they will extend it to March and say it needs to remain in place while more people get the vaccine.

I don’t think it will end in feb at all ! As soon as they said that on the Monday night when they were closing schools I thought it was bollocks.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 13/01/2021 16:17

End of March maybe but not Feb.

TooTweeForMe · 13/01/2021 16:26

No I think they will want to see out winter before lifting anything.

Thewheelsonthebus23 · 13/01/2021 16:30

I think it’ll be March - maybe mid March.

organisedmother · 13/01/2021 16:31

No way

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 13/01/2021 16:31

Not a chance.

RMRM · 13/01/2021 16:32

No chance for Feb.

grassisjeweled · 13/01/2021 16:33

No

ThornAmongstRoses · 13/01/2021 16:33

Based on the death rate today I can’t see anything changing anytime soon.....

ChristmasinJune · 13/01/2021 16:33

No, I think schools will be closed all of this term (possibly start encouraging more groups back after half term)
I think restrictions will end very gradually from late March onwards, very much like they did earlier in the year. It's not a quick fix but hopefully it's the last one.

anotherBadAvatar · 13/01/2021 16:33

Not a fucking chance (nhs worker)

LegoAndLolDolls · 13/01/2021 16:35

Nope. Did I hear someone say it takes 3 weeks for the jab to be effective?

With this new strain there is enough volume of under 80s to keep the NHS on its knees. But it's all just a guess of course

LegoAndLolDolls · 13/01/2021 16:36

Or was it 6 weeks?

GirlCrush · 13/01/2021 16:38

not a chance....watchin Boris squirm right now being questioned by liaison committee about Brazilian variant entering UK

she's pulling him up on previous years mistakes, she's got him y the balls and he's not coming out too well

GirlCrush · 13/01/2021 16:39

they seem rather worried by this new mutation from Brazil

Spiratedaway · 13/01/2021 16:40

@IceCreamAndCandyfloss

End of March maybe but not Feb.

Oh please God NO
I've only been homeschooling since Monday. Today DD(5) was telling me what to do and what felt tip to use. She has followed me around the house telling me to get back to my seat in the kitchen.
I CANT DO THIS FOR MONTHS

peboh · 13/01/2021 16:41

No. we'll probably be in lockdown until Easter.

stitchmaker85 · 13/01/2021 16:41

At this rate of new strains we'll still be in lockdown this time next year

Fuckinellitsme · 13/01/2021 16:41

I read last week that they were tentatively looking to start easing restrictions on the anniversary of the first lockdown (so 23 March), and aiming for hospitality to start reopening by the late May bank holiday.

Someone I know what has had the jab said 7 days after the 2nd dose is when you'll have the highest immunity. So a week for it to become effective.
nutellalove · 13/01/2021 16:43

Nope

Where do you see that? I work in hospitality and if we can't open until the last May BH then we are fucked.
PuffinDoingPuffinThings · 13/01/2021 16:45

They've never hinted or suggested this have they? I think they've made it pretty crystal clear that even once the top 4 categories are vaccinated, there still needs to be a few weeks on top to allow for the vaccine to take effect.

I think March personally. Although you'll get lots telling you we'll still be living like this until next Christmas probably.

Didn't they say the end of February when they announced this lockdown? I think that's where people have gotten it from.
