Would you report a hairdresser for still working at the moment?

I’m not usually one for reporting people, but where we are has some of the highest Covid rates in the whole of the U.K. Our local hospital is on its knees and staff have even been on the local news begging people to abide by the rules, yet today I log into social media to see that some silly cow has had her hair done and actually tagged the hairdresser that did it! I mean how fucking stupid and entitled can you possibly be?! It’s actually made me quite angry as today I learned that someone who lived near me has died of Covid at just 40 leaving a wife and kids.

I mean what is the fucking point in any of us following the rules when you have twats like this doing what the hell they like? I really do feel the need to report them but wouldn’t know where to start?

@MrsBrunch

I'm imagining you rubbing your thighs whilst writing that post.

Whatever floats your boat Grin

It clearly is for the op 😝

MsMartini · 11/01/2021 21:55

I would report to crimestoppers and include a link/screenshot to the FB post. That is a serious breach and stopping it could save lives.

TheMawisbraw · 11/01/2021 21:59

I’d call them out on the post, something like “you think this is appropriate, legal and necessary while people I know are actually dying”

WanderingFruitWonderer · 11/01/2021 22:06

As upsetting as such a rule breach is,.I couldn't report them. No way. It would seem spiteful to do so.
As PPs have said, you don't know the circumstances. I think privately messaging them would be a more proportionate response

BritWifeinUSA · 11/01/2021 22:12

You seem to know a lot about these people - who they live with, that they have no children, etc. If you know them so well why not call them or text them and tell them that you don’t think it’s right. Oh that’s right - you don’t want the confrontation and you want the police or council to do it for you. I bet it “reporting” wasn’t anonymous you wouldn’t even be asking about it.

If you don’t know them well enough to speak to them in an adult way, rather than running behind their back to tell tales on them like some playground nonsense, then you can’t possibly know the full circumstances. They may have children to support who don’t live with them. 50% of marriages end in divorce so there’s every possibility there are children that they are supporting who are living with the other parent. They could be sisters. One may be living with the other temporarily. It could be a picture from last year or the year before that popped up in someone’s memories feed so she reposted it.

If you’ve so much time on your hands, have you researched how many cases have been traced back to young healthy people having their hair done? Do you get this upset when you see adults goving McDonald’s meals for their kids? Heart disease kills far more than COVID.

And if she was getting her hair done today, so what? She’s not rubbing a meth lab or making bombs. Allow the hairdresser to make a living, for crying out loud. If you’re so scared, stay at home.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 11/01/2021 22:28

@ivfbeenbusy

Is she a mobile hairdresser? If so leave her alone maybe it's the only money she'll earn this month - cleaners and tradesman are allowed in your house 🤷‍♀️
I don't know about you, but I don't get that up close & personal with my cleaner or tradespeople. A hairdresser is close contact!!

@GoldenLabbie. I think you should report her, if you're in any doubt, te read the post about the Mum niw in ICU

GoldenLabbie · 11/01/2021 22:28

Your obviously a Covid denier @BritwifeUSA, so I’m not even going to bother engaging with you.

@ChristmasCovid

Yes I would report. In my line of work I had to make a call to someone who is positive today. She caught Covid from her mobile hairdresser that visited her house Christmas Eve. She passed it to her mum who she lives with who is now in icu. She bitterly, bitterly regrets that haircut. I would absolutely report it.
@GoldenLabbie did you see this post?
Aloamilk · 11/01/2021 22:34

BritWifeinUSA

Ffs, the OP has explained the domestic situation about 58 times already

Trickyboy · 11/01/2021 22:41

@Bluntness100

No I would not. But I’d think the woman was an absolute twat for posting it.
Then don't blame anyone else when you are gasping for breath in icu
Quaagars · 11/01/2021 22:43

@GoldenLabbie

How the heck do you get that from Britwifes post?! People disagreeing with you aren't automatically covid deniers FFS. I know it's serious, and am following the rules, but the OP shouldn't report her "friend" just because she's seen a social media photo with no idea of context behind it.
LimitIsUp · 11/01/2021 22:46

Yes.

Gandalf456 · 11/01/2021 22:47

Of course she's irresponsible considering the figures but I just couldn't report. I don't have it in me

LimitIsUp · 11/01/2021 22:53

@Pastanred

absolutely not

my mates a hairdresser and is about to lose her house

people saying she's selfish - i'm sure those people aren't worried about having roof over their head next month

shes been on reduced pay for almost a year - who else could like that

id say those reporting are vile

I think it is vile to think that losing your home (and this is a truly awful, shattering thing to happen) is an excuse to put others at risk of potentially severe illness or death
TheUnquestionedAnswer · 11/01/2021 22:53

My hairdresser did this in the last lockdown - unbeknown to me. I had an appointment on 4 July, the first day we were allowed, and it was only in conversation it turned out that he had been working throughout at people's homes. I haven't used him since. My sister picked up covid in a hairdressing salon, despite all the precautions wearing PPE. She also unknowingly spread it as went on to use the bus that day, went to a cafe, and the supermarket.

vminkookie · 11/01/2021 22:54

Woman needs to buy some dye online if her roots are that bad like the rest of us have to!

Hairdresser needs reporting.
Sceeenshot it and do it via local police website.

mumnowformerrockstar · 11/01/2021 22:54

I think I'd be tempted to but wouldn't actually do it.

Gandalf456 · 11/01/2021 23:07

I'd say easy to judge if you haven't been financially desperate during this crisis. I consider myself very lucky to be still working (legally) even thought it comes with a risk to my health. I can see why some would shut their eyes and hope for the best

When you report this person for the outrage you perceive...

Don’t be too shocked, when in a few months, someone thinks you’ve committed some misdemeanour and does the same to you.

You should really concentrate on your own life just now.

This nightmarish situation we all find ourselves in, is barely tolerable as it is, but you’ve appointed your self the police of others.

Try and imagine the unintended consequences of your action.

Think what you do, or have done, which isn’t quite right, legal, moral.

IM’s sure there will be something, if you think about it.

Gandalf456 · 11/01/2021 23:13

I know. There's been some really petty nitpicking in the press lately and on social media. There is this obsession about doing covid right

Glenorma · 11/01/2021 23:17

Yes I would report to police and council. The situation is worse than last spring and people are dying, it’s unacceptable.

Toddlermum1256 · 11/01/2021 23:19

Do you know all her circumstances then ? Do you know if she’s in debt? Just because someone died in your area doesn’t mean you have to go around being a snitch now. You reporting her to the police is not going to stop people dying.. your a very cruel person. Don’t you think everyone is miserable enough ? Just because your bitter your sticking to the rules 100% some people don’t have a choice and need money or they won’t eat or pay bills.

Dowser · 11/01/2021 23:26

Gosh there’s some horrible vindictive people on here.
Can’t believe how viscious some of you are
It’s got nothing to do with any of you what this woman or her clients do.
Nothing.
If she wants to / has to work
And other people are willing to let her do their
Ffs ..let them get on with it

Take responsibility for your own lives and act like grown ups
Instead of being the school snitch.

Oh and don’t give me any clap trap about someone in hospital gasping their last
It won’t work.

End of.

Toddlermum1256 · 11/01/2021 23:26

@Quaagars

That’s awful! these people seem so bitter and spiteful it’s worrying there are so many people that think it’s down them to report the friends or neighbours. I could never do it !!

Glenorma · 11/01/2021 23:36

You reporting her to the police is not going to stop people dying
It will though. The lady whose hair she was going to style next week won’t catch Covid from her and give it to her granny. Granny won’t pass it to her carer who won’t pass it to the 10 other elderly people she looks after. Granny won’t die and neither will any of those other people. Of course stopping this hairdresser will save lives!
