Would you report a hairdresser for still working at the moment?

I’m not usually one for reporting people, but where we are has some of the highest Covid rates in the whole of the U.K. Our local hospital is on its knees and staff have even been on the local news begging people to abide by the rules, yet today I log into social media to see that some silly cow has had her hair done and actually tagged the hairdresser that did it! I mean how fucking stupid and entitled can you possibly be?! It’s actually made me quite angry as today I learned that someone who lived near me has died of Covid at just 40 leaving a wife and kids.

I mean what is the fucking point in any of us following the rules when you have twats like this doing what the hell they like? I really do feel the need to report them but wouldn’t know where to start?

Yes I would. I'd take screenshots and report.

Lots of hairdressers, beauticans etc are complying with the law and guidelines, which also puts them at a financial disadvantage. Mixing with lots of people indoors, even as few as 1 client per day indoors is 5 extra people a week which she could either give the virus to or catch it from. Its irresponsible, given the more transmissible variant.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 11/01/2021 19:40

Health and lives of others trump finances. There is support and lots have changed jobs if need be.

Too many don’t seem to care about others as long as they can do what they like.

peak2021 · 11/01/2021 19:44

Yes I would and am aware of one being fined.

LouJ85 · 11/01/2021 20:17

Health and lives of others trump finances.

'Health' encompasses more than just physical health - it includes mental health. And sometimes poor finances are the cause of poor mental health. And poor mental health can have devastating consequences.

I'm not saying I agree with breaking the rules. I'm just pointing out that this is an overly simplistic statement that doesn't capture the full reality.

Drinkarsefeck · 11/01/2021 20:20

Yes, all our lives will be affected for the worse if the NHS goes down, she deserves to be reported.

MrsBrunch · 11/01/2021 20:28

In this instance I would take a screenshot, report and let the police look into it.

GoldenLabbie · 11/01/2021 20:44

Wow real mixed bag here. I’ve searched online and it looks like I can report it online, but I don’t have an address to do so. The other alternative is to message my local police on Instagram and send them the screenshots. Don’t know if they will take any notice.

Spiratedaway · 11/01/2021 20:47

No I would not ... not because I think it is right but I know some self employed not being helped .... but I would tell her she is a total bellend for posting

Spiratedaway · 11/01/2021 20:49

@RiverSkater

Why isn't the hairdresser not getting help? In any case, it's no excuse. If everybody feeling the pinch did this.....Confused
A lot of the self employed have not been helped

Don’t be a busy body ...it makes you sound really sad, I know your bored we all are but we should not be reporting each other to the police it’s quite pathetic. Fair enough if there’s a huge party , but just leave this. Maybe she got tagged in the photo and didn’t want it on there ...maybe her kids are starving and she needed cash fast ? Just mind your own business.

Toddlermum1256 · 11/01/2021 21:02

After seeing this post and most of the comments I didn’t actually realise there were such sad people around, look at what you’ve become ? Reporting your neighbours and people you know. Your not going to solve or change the pandemic by doing this you know you need to find a hobby fast.

Dowser · 11/01/2021 21:09

No, why would I do that
It’s time we all took responsibility for our own actions.

No one knows what is going on in peoples lives
Even the police are surprised at how many neighbours snitch on neighbours.

I agree, it's awful what it's done to people Sad
People see a picture on social media, and think they know all the facts.
Somebody I know has been reported for having a perfectly legitimate support bubble with her adult child, has caused no amount of upset and anxiety even though she'd done nothing wrong.
That kind of thing can mentally harm, and all for what?
Somebody who knows nothing and just thinks they do.
Sad when you feel you have to hide away and not post anything, or share anything, in case one of your so called "friends" maliciously reports you because they think they know it all when they have no clue.

I really don't see how you can be so sure. I've already said this, but do you really think they'd be stupid enough to break the law and brag about it on social media? Is there anything else on the hairdresser's social media that suggests she's dealing with other clients? If not, keep your counsel - because you don't know.

Read the thread properly ffs. I’ve already said several times that she’s not got any kids 🙄 But then if you’d have read the thread properly you would know that a local man has died of Covid at just 40. Should we all just turn a blind eye to rule breaking?

I'm imagining you rubbing your thighs whilst writing that post.

I've not read the full thread as it feels a bit grubby but maybe the hairdresser is one of the 3 million excluded from government help and needs to put food on the table for her kids 🤷‍♂️.

Because not everyone can. I'm not condoning it but not everyone is eligible for help.
CosyAcorn · 11/01/2021 21:22

No, I wouldn't personally report anyone for breaking the rules. I think it's stupid and potentially harmful but I wouldn't report them. Anymore than I would report a friend for parking on double yellow lines. I'd tell them they are being a twat and move on.

candycane222 · 11/01/2021 21:26

I think it s rather more serious than oarking on a double yellow (though granted that can also be dangerous). I honestly don't know what id do. Maybe report and letter to mp pointing out how shockingly poor dupport for self employment is perpetuating the pandemic

Torvean32 · 11/01/2021 21:30

Yes repirt the hairdesser. This is the only way to stamp it out and prevent further infections til enough ppl are vaccinated.

Inform your local council.
