Would you report a hairdresser for still working at the moment?

I’m not usually one for reporting people, but where we are has some of the highest Covid rates in the whole of the U.K. Our local hospital is on its knees and staff have even been on the local news begging people to abide by the rules, yet today I log into social media to see that some silly cow has had her hair done and actually tagged the hairdresser that did it! I mean how fucking stupid and entitled can you possibly be?! It’s actually made me quite angry as today I learned that someone who lived near me has died of Covid at just 40 leaving a wife and kids.

I mean what is the fucking point in any of us following the rules when you have twats like this doing what the hell they like? I really do feel the need to report them but wouldn’t know where to start?

Yes, of course you should report if you're sure. Stupid woman, probably claiming benefit etc too if she's so underhand.

laidbacklife · 11/01/2021 18:13

No. Unless you’re also going to put your money where your mouth is and pay her an allowance. How exactly do you expect her to keep a roof over her head?

KeyIndexAug · 11/01/2021 18:14

Love the fact that people should be allowed to do whatever they want in the middle of a serious pandemic just so there's no chance of a potentially triggering conversation Hmm

Sandybanana7 · 11/01/2021 18:16

That’s not right. I wouldn’t usually say report but on this occasion, yes, absolutely.

islockdownoveryet · 11/01/2021 18:19

I’m in 2 minds part of me thinks no none of my business and people are struggling. But it’s really not on that we are all in lockdown not working no school not seeing friends or family but someone thinks it fine to have hair done and the hairdresser thinks it’s fine to do so . In my experience some people in real life are in there own bubble and not really paying attention to what you can and can’t do , ignorance or stupidity possibly but for that reason I’d be tempted to report as it’s not on .

Runmybathforme · 11/01/2021 18:24

Has no one challenged her on her post ? It’s awful that so many people are losing their livelihoods , but it’s no excuse. These two fuckwits should be prosecuted.

LindyLou2020 · 11/01/2021 18:27

@GoldenLabbie

Just out of interest who would you report them to? The police or is it the council? Also would it be anonymous? I’ve a feeling it could get quite nasty if they found out it was me. They’re the sort if you get what I’m saying.

I can’t believe how angry it has made me. Why do you even need a haircut and a balayage at the moment? And then to fucking boast about it on social media! Just astonishing.

I wanted to report a business not complying with Covid regulations. (This was during the 2nd lockdown). I just went on to my local authority's website and found simple forms you could fill in online regarding businesses or private individuals. You could give your details or remain anonymous
pinkpanther84 · 11/01/2021 18:28

Yes I would report

SunKeepsShining · 11/01/2021 18:29

I would report them. They are posting the acceptable things so they are doing far worse behind the scenes

LindyLou2020 · 11/01/2021 18:29

P.S.......whether anything was done or not I don't know, as I was a chicken and stayed anonymous!

SunKeepsShining · 11/01/2021 18:30

And I mean things they think are acceptable for others to see, they really broke the rules and the spirit of keeping others safe

Pastanred · 11/01/2021 18:38

absolutely not

my mates a hairdresser and is about to lose her house

people saying she's selfish - i'm sure those people aren't worried about having roof over their head next month

shes been on reduced pay for almost a year - who else could like that

id say those reporting are vile

Porcupineintherough · 11/01/2021 18:40

Yes, do it. We are all locked down and in order to get out of it transmission has to go down. Am sick of people thinking their circumstances are too special to follow the rules.

Porcupineintherough · 11/01/2021 18:42

@Pastanred lots of people have been living in reduced circumstances and are losing their homes. And they dont all have the option of circumnavigating the restrictions.

GoldenLabbie · 11/01/2021 18:44

Having seen the way she and her mates reacted to a gym they use being investigated after a report that it was still open, I can’t imagine it would go down very well.

I would report that you are concerned that X hairdresser may be operating due to a post on Social media.

CostaDelCovid · 11/01/2021 18:52

Screenshot now OP! Quickly before she deletes it.

Yes, definitely report. If everyone did what this hairdresser is doing then just think about where we'd be.....

ChristmasCovid · 11/01/2021 18:53

Yes I would report.
In my line of work I had to make a call to someone who is positive today. She caught Covid from her mobile hairdresser that visited her house Christmas Eve. She passed it to her mum who she lives with who is now in icu.
She bitterly, bitterly regrets that haircut.
I would absolutely report it.

ivfbeenbusy · 11/01/2021 18:54

Is she a mobile hairdresser? If so leave her alone maybe it's the only money she'll earn this month - cleaners and tradesman are allowed in your house 🤷‍♀️

Shehasadiamondinthesky · 11/01/2021 18:55

I'm tempted to say give me her number my hair looks like shit but quite honestly it isn't acceptable.

hMG206 · 11/01/2021 18:57

@ChristmasCovid that’s awful to hear! Sad

hMG206 · 11/01/2021 18:59

Can I just say morally the hairdresser isn’t considering her clients - not just for the covid risk but from an insurance point of view. She will not be covered doing this !

1forAll74 · 11/01/2021 19:01

Perhaps it's been reported already, as you are probably not the only one to have seen this on social media.. There are stupid people all over, breaking the rules, and going one step further putting this out there.

SupportingDoctors · 11/01/2021 19:05

Yes, report.

‘I know she's someone meticulous about hygiene at work and at home and see it as her and her client's decision as to whether they take the risk for themselves and their families”

Unfortunately it’s not just about them. They can be part of a chain and/or themselves end up in hospital putting a strain on an over-run NHS. Doctors and nurses are on their knees.

Being short of money is sadly no excuse for breaking lockdown rules or we will never get to the end of this and we will all get poorer and poorer. Having said that, I blame the client more than the hairdresser and hope she is fined.

LouJ85 · 11/01/2021 19:12

I can see both sides. My friend is a hairdresser and she rang me in tears when this lockdown was announced as she's only just picked herself back up financially after the first one. Her mental health is at rock bottom because of this. But I can also see the point about breaking rules and placing others at risk. It's a really tough one. I wouldn't personally report it though.
