It’s back under a new name “clap for heroes.”

OP posts:
Fandaddydoozie · 06/01/2021 15:43

I'm tempted to clap for home schooling parents!

Notjustanymum · 06/01/2021 15:44

No - it’s not helping anything, is it?

GrimDamnFanjo · 06/01/2021 15:45

Oh so we need to conceal the 5G mast signals again?

Joking.

Bluesheep8 · 06/01/2021 15:46

We're clapping for key workers, which includes lawyers and accountants.

Since when?
And no, I won't be clapping.

milveycrohn · 06/01/2021 15:46

no

Egghead68 · 06/01/2021 15:47

No

Titterofwit · 06/01/2021 15:47

The Moo was an end -of -the -news feature that caught some peoples attention during the first lockdown. I believe that it carried on until recently . They are looking to reinstating it as the act of mooing seems to relieve tension in those kept inside.

I dunno.
I dont really feel comfortable about mooing in a city street.

But Booing? I could get behind that.
What about a lovely 2 minute Big Boris Boo at 6pm wherever you are?

SirSamuelVimes · 06/01/2021 15:48

I'd rather cut off my hands.

Crowsaregreat · 06/01/2021 15:48

No.

I can't believe the Tories would have the brass neck to stand out and pretend they support the NHS either, this time around.

AuntieMarys · 06/01/2021 15:49

No. Didn't clap the first time as I thought it was a load of wank. And I still think it is. Embarrassing and attention seeking.

Ellisisland · 06/01/2021 15:49

Last time the clap happened, I timed it badly whereby I was coming back from a dog walk at the same time. So it looked like the whole street had turned out to clap for my Labrador returning from his walk, like a one dog parade as we walked along the road Grin

MaryLeeOnHigh · 06/01/2021 15:50

What about a lovely 2 minute Big Boris Boo at 6pm wherever you are?

That's one I could definitely support.

notangelinajolie · 06/01/2021 15:51

No I won't. But I would imagine the parents and children of the 4 famlies who live on my lane will be out with their pan lids. They've been out playing all day so any excuse to stay out and mix some more - disgusting hypocrites the lot of them.

Ebhc · 06/01/2021 15:52

No

Mrsbrownsgargoyle · 06/01/2021 15:53

Fuck no.

m00Ma · 06/01/2021 15:54

No. I didnt last time; it nauseated me listening to people who dgaf banging their pots. I will continue campaigning for a proper pay rise.

MuthaFunka61 · 06/01/2021 15:54

I did once the last time as I've friends and neighbours who're key workers plus there's a hospitial across the valley where the noise could be heard.
It grated on me to be supporting the hypocrisy of The Tories though so it was a one time occurance for me.

So that's a big fat no

SooWoo56 · 06/01/2021 15:55

No

StiffyByng1 · 06/01/2021 15:56

No!

CarryOnFestiveNamechanging · 06/01/2021 15:56

No

knittingaddict · 06/01/2021 15:56

No.

I haven't read the other replies. I didn't clap with the last one either. It's not because I don't care and appreciate the work of doctors and nurses. I just think the best thing I can do for them is to follow the rules and NOT end up in front of them in a hospital bed. Also going into my street and clapping in public is not my thing. It makes me cringe a bit.

Lemonpiano · 06/01/2021 15:58

No. And I strongly object to the branding of people as "heroes" based purely on their employer or job title rather than their individual actions. It creates a culture where abuse and other harms are covered up.

The whole thing is deeply inappropriate and I am disappointed it has even been proposed again.

Saltblood · 06/01/2021 16:00

It helped ‘bring people together’ in a way.

Everyone on our cul de sac of about 8 houses clapped on the doorstep and waved at eachother. We have an NHS key worker and a teacher as neighbours too.

If I see/hear anyone outside I might, but I’m not going to be first out there ! My young son ran about like a loony banging saucepans on the very last nhs clap last summer so that kind of finalised it for us.

I’ve voted no.

annevonkleve · 06/01/2021 16:02

No I won't be clapping. And if I did, the people who are having more of an impact on my life at the moment are the ones working in supermarket, delivering the post and emptying the bins. Do they get a clap too?

It's nonsensical virtue signalling.

JulesPinkTutu · 06/01/2021 16:03

Can’t understand why people have ever done this ( clapping) ?

But it’s probably the same people who like Centre Parks and gush about that holiday camp 🤣🤣🤣🤣
