Has anyone seen the pictures of NYE celebration s in Wuhan? Shock

I've screenshot because the only places that seem to be running this story are The Sun and the Daily Mail

OMG, how have we managed to get it so wrong while the place this virus originated from is back to normal?

Surely not the same as allowing planeloads of people from Wuhan fly across the globe whilst restricting them from travelling anywhere within China ...

We aren’t even getting into attacking whistleblowers, pressuring other countries into keeping their borders open, and using their influence to get the WHO to downplay the danger of the virus.

Oh, and they keep trying to pin the virus as other countries’ faults (US marines brought it to China ... oh, it came from India because of mixing of human and animals in the rivers ...)

The virus is spread by people so either you isolate to reduce the spread or you don't contain it. The UK has too many fuckwits who think their "rights" trump anything else so it is no wonder we are where we are

I dont believe it for a moment and as for them erradicating it and being better than our gov, have you forgotten its been said thousands of deaths been covered up, doctors and journos are still missing after trying to warn the world about covid19.

It is a public holiday in China and the new year is celebrated in addition to Chinese New Year celebrations.

Back to normal? Not sure where your from but its been no where near normal here new strain or not. we was their 2 until yesterday moved to 3.

Sorry but I think they are a disgrace to flaunt this after what they have caused the rest of the world. It's about time all us nations demanded recompense from China for the damage, death and destruction they've brought upon us all by their secretive BS. It proper made me so upset earlier seeing it I've lost my livelihood down to this. I should be working tonight, one of the biggest nights in my calendar, earning a lot of money too and where am I? In bed, near in tears. DP and I are at each others throats as we never get peace from each other, DDs education is in the toilet, DS has barely seen a consultant all year for his illnesses and to top it off it looks like things financially will get worse soon

Wuhan and their partying can fuck itself.

I don't think China nailed people into buildings as a matter of course. There was footage of one or two people being arrested outside an apartment block, and then carted off by police, because they refused to comply with regulations and then that apartments front door was boarded up.

People overwhelmingly complied with the strict lockdown in Wuhan, that's why they have such low numbers now.

What’s racist and ignorant is the Chinese government’s refusal to take blame. They still push conspiracy theories on foreign origins and hinder any independent investigation of the coronavirus in China.

Too many are keen to give them a pass for whatever reason.

No Brits wanted to be locked up and punished for breaching the rules as per China.
The Brits mentality was I'm special, How can I bend these guidelines and rules to suit me better and lots of back patting for those pointing out loopholes etc.
Don't get me wrong our government have run a shit show but a chunk of our population havnt wanted to comply.
We are where we are today, up there as one of the worst affected countries because of the actions of our population.
Everything our government has implemented had been a wishy washy half measure with little consequence for those that can find special reasons to not comply with wishy washy and confusing requests and guidelines, and the very few laws.

Please. The failure of the Chinese government has caused this to spread throughout the globe. It has harmed so many countries—and not just rich Western ones. South America and the Balkan countries are doing poorly as well.

The UK has done about as well as most other West European countries. There really is no difference in the curves between countries in Western Europe.

I don’t even live in the UK but per capita rates don’t even place it in the top 10 of worst-hit countries.

And it’s China’s failure. Let’s not lose sight of that—they used the WHO to downplay the whole thing. They pressured other countries to remain open and pressured the WHO to not recommend travel bans either. They also delayed in reporting human to human transmission, how could the world prepare when they wouldn’t come clean about what was actually happening in Wuhan?

You are really blaming the victims here.

And it should go without saying that China is shorthand for the Chinese government. It should be said that the ordinary people are just as much victims of their government as the rest of us
