My dad is dying.

He has been in hospital a few days. We have just been told that he has a few hours left.

It's shit.

I'm so sorry, I wasn't thinking straight. I know he's hanging on and I meant to type"your upcoming loss".

Dear TotallyX, when my dear Dad died from Covid in hospital in April he went from a deep sleep to very low heart rate and breathing - deeply unconscious - a nurse held a phone to his ear and I’m so glad I spoke to him then. He took his last breath less than an hour later.

@mintyneb I'm glad that brings you some comfort. It's also worth knowing that it's not all that common for patients to die with their loved ones by their side. Some do, but many have remarkable knack of waiting until their loved one pops to the loo, or grabs a sandwich, or decides to go home and get some bits.

He is still hanging on. My sibling arrived in the country and has been to see him. He is comfortable.
