So very sorry OP, we were there with fil in april, it's fucking awful. Phone and ask to speak to him on the phone or via facetime or something, they will let you and he won't be alone x

Call the ward and ask them to put the phone by him so you can tell him the things you want him to hear.

Even if he can't respond, there's a chance he will hear you and find comfort in your voice.
