28, scottish highlands and we have been low throughout. Level 4 as of today though, had been level 1....but needs must I suppose. I'm just hoping we get schools back some point in january.

PimlicoJo · 26/12/2020 21:03

What for me is most worrying is that during the last lockdown the numbers in my London borough were around 30. One of the lowest in London. It's now over 700 and rising rapidly.

@Crunchymum I border Haringey too & work in Camden (primary school). It’s really not looking great. I think the DCs & I will hibernate as much as possible for the next week.

Notnowokay · 26/12/2020 21:11

@LBOCS2, your death rate is so high! What is happening in Croydon?

spacegirl86 · 26/12/2020 21:13

238 in our bit of Cambridgeshire. Just gone into tier 4, jumping over tier 3 entirely.

Crunchymum · 26/12/2020 21:15

@Inmyownlittlecorner

How do you feel about going back to work?

How do you feel about your DC going back?

Rates are utterly terrifying and its really getting to me. Getting to me as in I don't want my kids to go back (8,6 and 3yo in nursery).... after all those months of homeschooling I never thought I'd want them at home again but its rife and I'm twitchy Shock

Not in Croydon, in Bromley next door.
I think Outer London boroughs tend to have older populations than inner London, leading to cases being more serious

SAY WHAT?!
ShopTattsyrup · 26/12/2020 21:28

187 - Greater Manchester

umpteennamechanges · 26/12/2020 21:29

220 - in Hampshire and just gone into Tier 4.

Although it's not as high as some areas it has absolutely shot up in the past couple of weeks so suspect we're seeing the first impact of the new variant.

Hairydilemma · 26/12/2020 21:30

1159 Shock

Basildon district. I knew it was high but that’s really quite shocking.

2X4B523P · 26/12/2020 21:30

@AHippoNamedBooBooButt

We was on 122 on the day of being placed in tier 3 at the end of the national lockdown. Didn't take long to overtake the Kent areas which brought the whole county into tier 3, only Medway is higher now.

bestbefore · 26/12/2020 21:34

We are v high - on the covid messenger email the other days we were 3rd highest in England. It's a weird LA though I think as spread out rural but also on the edge of London. MP strangely quiet Hmm

  1. West mids.currently tier 2 but it can change so quickly.
bestbefore · 26/12/2020 21:42

Actually now my area is 2nd highest. Bloody hell

TokyoSushi · 26/12/2020 21:43

552, up from 263 the previous week 😳

T3 but I can't believe we're far from being 'upgraded' to T4 🙁

Tomatoes123 · 26/12/2020 21:47

The cases are rocketing because they have ramped up testing again. Majority of these cases are asymptomatic. Normal/slightly elevated winter pressures in hospitals. Hospital patients are tested on admission then every few days. These are patients not admitted for covid in the main. We are being gaslit.
Don't be terrified. Be angry.
