I'm in Tendring, really high numbers but also badly skewed.
Part I'm in is very slowly dropping and at around 600/100000 (just above national average), but Tendring as a whole is at 1300/100000, because Clacton is at 2000/100000

Hopefully we'll soon be seeing it burn out in Clacton, which is a very deprived area including the most deprived ward in the country. Plus there are a lot of HMOs in Clacton Central, like roads and roads of B&Bs.

499/100k currently so below national average.

We hit nearly 574 a few days ago and it's starting to come down now.

There seems to be signs this lockdown is working nationally which I'm finding reassuring.

The table with rates per 100k for every council in England is updated on www.covidmessenger.com with today's govt data for anyone who wants to check.

Also - charts of how the rate per 100K has changed over recent weeks in councils in Kent, Essex and Greater London is here: www.covidmessenger.com/latest-analysis/

It's looking promising!!

The relentless march of cases rising and rising week-over-week is finally turning. I am feeling optimistic about the weeks ahead.

Fingers, toes, everything crossed that the tide is turning.

Finally going down.

Lots of nice green there. And because of the lag I think it'll look even better in real time. We have just started falling in my town and it's still there as rising (we have fallen since 8th jan!)

And though we don't always have data for past 5 days we aren't finding many added for above last 3 days 🤞

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 22:51

This is what Sainsbury's say

"To help manage the number of customers in our stores you must also shop on your own, this will help make your shop quicker"

Literally this is all I've been saying, and the amount of abuse is frankly staggering.

MrsMiaWallis · 13/01/2021 22:52

Oh ffs
Wrong thread sorry

Lougle · 14/01/2021 08:09

Down 359 from 412 on 04/01/21. I think that's the worrying thing. The decline is so much slower than the increase was.

quiteathome · 14/01/2021 15:57

i think decline is always slower.

There has been a decline in new cases here. Although it is too early to tell and hospital numbers will still go up for a few weeks.

HappyFlamingo · 15/01/2021 15:55

601 - falling

DrunkenKoala · 15/01/2021 16:01

815 today, continuing to fall a quite a rate. (Fell by nearly 80 since yesterday). 😃

Skipsurvey · 16/01/2021 12:05

more councils falling than rising now, which is GOOD news in amongst all the bad news

mrshoho · 16/01/2021 20:45

849 going down

HappyFlamingo · 16/01/2021 21:36

513 - still falling

Whatever9999 · 17/01/2021 10:49

Postcode area now back under 500, actual district under 1000 and the hotspot town that is bringing the numbers up now under 2000.

Really does show how different demographics are affecting spread. Fairly deprived town with a lot of HMOs, numbers are crazy, much more affluent villages/small town, next to no HMOs, numbers got nowhere near as bad and started dropping much quicker.

HappyFlamingo · 18/01/2021 14:46

513 - still falling

HappyFlamingo · 18/01/2021 14:46

Sorry I mean 470 - still falling

Redcrayons · 18/01/2021 17:18

Tiny bit over 1000, but falling sharply.

DrunkenKoala · 18/01/2021 17:23
  1. Down from 815 last Friday.
wendz86 · 18/01/2021 17:23

458 now, dropped a lot in last couple of weeks.

Lougle · 18/01/2021 18:04

Down to 288 now from 359. That's a good drop in 4 days.
