How long are test taking to come back

My dgs had a test on Tuesday as he had a bad cough and because his childminder who he had been with has been diagnosed positive he needed the test. Has anyone had a test recently and how long did it take to get the result.

I am isolating at the moment as I had contact with him after he started to have some symptoms but before the positive test from the childminder.

DD had a test Monday lunchtime, got the results about 2 hrs ago. I think 2-3 days is the norm.

The test centre near ours has (somehow) been good at getting our results back in under 24 hours. Our family and friends have used it a fair few times and if you get the test done before their 2pm collection, the results come back by 9am the next day.

If you're lucky he should get his result today but there are a lot more people being tested these past few days so it's going to impact on how quickly the results come back.

Postal tests London - sent Sunday before collection, results back Wednesday afternoon. Longer than in September when we last had to test.

Thanks for the replies. Hope we find out soon. He is apparently bouncing round the house now with no signs of a cough but at 3 they do tend to bounce back from everything.

I sent off 2 postal tests in London on Monday afternoon. I got my result yesterday night, DH had his just now. My previous test was in June and was only 22 hours but that was from drive in.

DS tested on Monday, still no result. Xmas is a mess

Had a test Sunday evening and was told 48hrs but it took three days. Result was inconclusive so had another test today and been told to expect result in 5 working days due to backlog. With Christmas and weekend I'll be lucky to get it by next Thursday. I'm in Greater London.

Cannot do my home test which arrived today as there’s no collection until next week - what a mess!

I made a thread on this 2 days ago and it varied from 20 hours to over 100.

DS was tested on Tuesday at 3pm. We’re still waiting. Am hoping to get it soon so that we can at least get out for a walk tomorrow.

I was tested 2.30pm yesterday so still waiting. I don't think I will see the results before Xmas.

Just had results 10 mins ago after a test at 9am Monday morning. Positive for DH, negative for me

Postal test sent Monday. Results today.

Had drive through test it took 36 hours for results to come back. That was last week.

Tested Saturday morning. Still haven’t heard. Rang today and they apologised but said it was due to volume of tests...

I know 2 people that had tests on Monday, one got results on Tuesday morning the other got theirs at lunchtime today ( both same area of London)

Sunday 11:30 results Sunday 21:00!!!!

2 Positive and 1 negative

28 hour. Had test Tuesday 10am.

I think it can be very variable. We had 3 tests Monday morning last week, 2 the results came on Wednesday morning the other didn't come back until Saturday pm.

I wonder if they will still be sending them on christmas day?

Tested 4.30pm yesterday. Got negative result 6.00 tonight. Good luck!

A couple of weeks ago, tests at 8:30am, results back 1am the next morning, so under 24 hours.

I think a lot more people have tested this week though. DH had a test yesterday 10:30am & nothing back yet.
