How long are test taking to come back

My dgs had a test on Tuesday as he had a bad cough and because his childminder who he had been with has been diagnosed positive he needed the test. Has anyone had a test recently and how long did it take to get the result.

I am isolating at the moment as I had contact with him after he started to have some symptoms but before the positive test from the childminder.

Thanks for all the comments. Dgs result came back at 10 pm on Christmas Eve so it meant we were able to celebrate Christmas together. It had taken 56 hours to get the result.
