My dgs had a test on Tuesday as he had a bad cough and because his childminder who he had been with has been diagnosed positive he needed the test. Has anyone had a test recently and how long did it take to get the result.

I am isolating at the moment as I had contact with him after he started to have some symptoms but before the positive test from the childminder.

God there's a real range on these threads. Some taking less than 24 hrs and others a lot longer. Got my son tested Tuesday afternoon, 3pm. Still waiting

Gingerkittykat · 24/12/2020 21:53

I'm in Central Scotland and we tested at 3pm yesterday and the collection van was picking up when we were there. The results came back around 9am this morning.

breadwidow · 24/12/2020 21:55

Bloody hell looks like results coming through much quicker in Scotland than England

Chaotic45 · 24/12/2020 22:20

In Leicestershire our tests came back within 20 hours last week, same for friends who tested yesterday.

Igglepigglesgrubbyblanket · 24/12/2020 22:24

Dorisdaydream2 · 25/12/2020 16:08

Brrlsland (sorry don’t know how to tag people) yes, merry Christmas!! Isn’t it rubbish getting that positive result on Christmas Day! Hope you’re managing to have a good day anyway.

BrrrIsland · 25/12/2020 16:58

Thanks Dorisdaydream2 (not sure I can tag either..!) It does feel like an extra kick in the teeth, although I was expecting it, and I’m feeling okish. I hope you’re not too bad either and Xmas hasn’t been a total write off x

LBB2020 · 25/12/2020 17:12
