Just thought I'd start a new thread for the north east lot as number 3 is getting pretty full!

@PennyDreadfuI hope you're ok and hope you don't mind me picking the thread up!

Well the northumbrian water site is definitely handy. I think it only opened, last week.

PickAChew · 15/02/2021 22:20

And I'm off to the arnison centre in the morning. Didn't make it, last week because of the weather but walked past with Ds2, this afternoon - our first long walk in 2 weeks (and I've been feeling it, ever since.)

MrsEWeatherwax · 15/02/2021 22:28

I need to go for walk, don’t think a walk around the supermarket counts. Weather looked nice today. Sunny tomorrow, double digits Smile.
When this is all over the diet and gym will have to start. Will need to find a very very unfit persons classBlush. I have downloaded the County Durham thrive app, it has keep fit classes on it, I have watched a class, does that countBlush

TheSilveryPussycat · 15/02/2021 22:38

I saw on the news that it is best if GPs focus on people with other conditions, so went on line. The nearest on offer was in East Boldon. Will keep checking!

I am hugely unfit, I haven't been for a proper walk in forever.

PickAChew · 16/02/2021 00:14

I need to walk to keep my joints stable, as I'm hypermobile. Decided not to risk the ice and snow, this year, as I am so unstable on it and definitely can't support Ds2 as well and now I'm paying the price for staying in for too long!

Someaddedsugar · 16/02/2021 07:05

Hope you're ok and manage to go out for a walk soon @PickAChew!

I work for NW and as we're not able to go into the office they've since offered the site to the NHS to use as a vaccine Centre on the ground floor. I think it took a few weeks to set up.

I'm going to look at a Robinson's veg box too. I'm finding we're having the same 8 meals on repeat so it'd be nice to have some new meal ideas too if anyone has any suggestions? Ideally relatively healthy as I'm trying to be good following lockdown/Christmas binges!

Arnison is mad busy, already.

PickAChew · 16/02/2021 12:39

And thanks, @Someaddedsugar. I did get out with Ds2, yesterday, and that's what triggered me. I was OK when I got up, this morning and walked to the arnison centre OK, then it came back on while I was stood in the interminable queue for the 3 checkouts that were open. I'm going to have to keep moving if it's to get any better. 😬

myrtleWilson · 16/02/2021 13:45

what sort of food do you like @Someaddedsugar and I'll see if I can come up with suggestions!

Someaddedsugar · 16/02/2021 16:00

@myrtleWilson I'm open to all suggestions - ideally under 500 calories to help with the diet would be amazing!

Fajita chicken is an easy one to keep low calorie for yourself but add more carbs and calorific toppings for everyone else.

Someaddedsugar · 16/02/2021 19:13

I hadn't thought of that @PickAChew - that's a nice easy one too like you say!

NUFC69 · 16/02/2021 19:18

@Someaddedsugar, can I recommend the Pinch of Nom cook books, they really are brilliant (I have bought all three). The ingredient lists sometimes look long, but they are easy to make and taste so good.

Someaddedsugar · 16/02/2021 19:23

Thanks @NUFC69 - I'll have a look!

Good luck with your healthy eating Someaddedsugar.
Durham county council Facebook page has just announced the vaccine centre to open 22 February, and people are already complaining HmmSomeone was complaining people will be going shopping after! Some people will never be happy. I’m pleased it’s a lot easier to get too and free parking, better than having to go to Newcastle city centre or the Sunderland one near Nissan( which it really Washington).
I feel good today, finally finished painting my interior door and painted the fire breast wall( smashing it)
And the sun 🌞 is out, yeah. They are also complaining on Facebook that Chester park is busy.
Note to self stay off miserable Facebook.

Someaddedsugar · 17/02/2021 18:50

@MrsEWeatherwax some people will never be happy! Surely it's up to those people who've received the vaccine if they want to go shopping... I do think I'd be fancying a McDonald's afterwards as a treat .

What colour have you chosen for your decorating? Sounds like a very productive day!

I've managed to stick to my healthy eating and I've ordered the first book from pinch of nom @NUFC69. Hopefully I'll stick at it this time. It's all too easy to sit and eat biscuits all day while working from home!

PickAChew · 17/02/2021 19:38

Is that people at Chester Park complaining that it's busy, @mseweatherwax? 🤔🤣

We finally have a watertight garage roof. It's going to take many trips to the tip near Stanley for dh to dispose of the old one, though. It's concrete a d, despite testing negative for asbestos, still has to be treated as hazardous waste. He has to apply for a permit, each time, and can only take so many bags or wrapped sheets with each permit.

MrsEWeatherwax · 17/02/2021 20:23

I have chosen Farrow and Ball Purbeck Stone and some lighter grey for other walls, but it has taken me weeks to paint, because I just can’t be bothered.
It often is someone who is there complaining about other people being there! It was someone on County Durham Facebook page saying was busy. But it has been a lovely day and was bloody snowing last week and freezing. Plus it’s half term, it’s like they want everyone locked away. You are allowed out for exercise and children deserve a bit of fun.

TheSilveryPussycat · 17/02/2021 22:30

The Durham vaccination centre came up as a choice on line this afternoon, so I have booked mine for Monday morning Smile

PickAChew · 18/02/2021 13:19

Ooh, you'll be one of the first, then.

MrsEWeatherwax · 18/02/2021 14:59

Good luck TheSilveryPussycat. I’m pleased for you. I’m just thrilled we are doing so well re vaccine.
Going to brave the Arnison centre today. Just cleaned my food cupboards. Living the life, eh bet you’re all jealous of my exciting lifeGrin

PickAChew · 18/02/2021 15:34

Just browsing through my tapas recipe book, @Someaddedsugar and on amongst all the deep fried stuff is this that I quite fancy making, next week. I have some really dark turmeric that will be delicious.

Someaddedsugar · 18/02/2021 18:09

@PickAChew that looks and sounds amazing!

@MrsEWeatherwax today I cleaned on top of a cupboard that's on the wall in our kitchen. I felt a real sense of satisfaction afterwards and then realised no one else will ever know it's even been cleaned 😂.

@TheSilveryPussycat pleased you're booked in! The vaccines seem to be going really well in the north east still don't they.

"no one else will ever know it's even been cleaned 😂."

But we all will Smile

PickAChew · 18/02/2021 21:27

I know exactly how filthy or otherwise the tops of my cupboards are. I keep my hoard of bread flour up there :o
