Anyone tested v recently? Wondered how long ppl are waiting for results? I'm guessing lots of ppl testing ahead of Christmas. Tested this afternoon, they've said within 72 hours...

4 days now for home test and still waiting

toodleloooo · 21/12/2020 21:02

I returned home test today and they said there's no guarantee of hearing back by Christmas because of the volumes they're dealing with. The earliest I can chase if I haven't heard is Boxing Day. Hopefully it might be a bit quicker for you if you tested in person.

Farcry66 · 21/12/2020 21:08

We did ours today, I'm desperately hoping they arrive before Christmas day otherwise my boys won't be able to see their dad. He is EVC and in pre-covid times we were 50/50 but they have lived with me full time since March. He suffers from MH problems as well and this has massivly kicked off his OCD again. The boys have missed him terribly and just want to be able to hug him on Christmas day. I feel like we should have taken the tests a couple of days earlier, but I'm a teacher and the boys are both at school so wanted to have a chance to let anythingincubate for a few days just in case.

It's going to be very sad if we don't get them back in time. Although obviously they can see him afterwards, we are in strict isolation for now.

Still waiting on DD's test from
Saturday (we're South East), 55 hours now. They said between 24-72 hours at the test centre

All fingers crossed for you Farcry, we are desperately hoping to see grandparents.

In south west, had test 8am Sunday morning, got (positive) results today at midday.

edwinbear · 21/12/2020 21:41

Tested yesterday at lunchtime (South East), negative results at 7pm tonight.

fruitypancake · 21/12/2020 22:42

Thanks all.. those last two are promising ! Pretty quick

There'll be longer waits, presumably, at the moment because of higher infection rates, at least in tier 4 areas.

fruitypancake · 22/12/2020 11:52

Anyone else had a test and results back in last few days?

MrsBennetsnerves · 22/12/2020 12:09

Tested yesterday via home test. I also tested in May and June via drive in (positive, then negative) and had a pretty swift turnaround. I'm expecting it to be a few days right now with cases much higher.

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/12/2020 12:11

Got tested this morning at work, normally takes 2 days to come back.

Porcupineinwaiting · 22/12/2020 12:44

Tested Monday morning and just got test results back half an hour ago (negative as expected).

I posted a home test back on Saturday and hit a negative result yesterday

Strawberrylaceaddict · 22/12/2020 13:32

Ordered home test Thursday evening and it came Friday evening, posted Saturday morning and we received the results 6am Monday morning. Very surprised at how quick it was. When we last tested, we used a drive through test site and it took 5 days for the results (although this was when they were really struggling with a backlog earlier in the year.)

MaryShelley1818 · 22/12/2020 13:36

I tested this morning (North East England) was told results should be back in 24hrs. Really hoping they are.

GaleriaFaustina · 22/12/2020 13:36

DP got tested at 7pm last night and results were back at 10.30am. Couldn't believe it!

We're in NW (Tier 3) and he said the testing centre was busy.

Redcrayons · 22/12/2020 13:37

I’m going tonight, but I live in a mass testing area so it will be the lateral flow which takes 30 minutes.

GaleriaFaustina · 22/12/2020 13:38

Also a family member got tested in a Tier 2 area (but in the news today as one of the fastest growing areas) on Sunday, results back yesterday.

clevername · 22/12/2020 13:39

I was just about to create a thread asking the same question...
We're in Kent and DD had a test on Sunday lunchtime. We're still waiting for the results. She's much better now so we're crossing everything that it's negative so we can get on with our lives (well, as much as we can in Tier 4 Grin).

I had a test in June and the results never came through so I'm really nervous this is going to happen again.

Ruby1991 · 22/12/2020 13:43

I tested yesterday 21/12 at 2pm, been 24 hrs and still waiting.

I also did a test end of Nov. Did test 12.30 and got result 11pm the following day

Reindeermayhem · 22/12/2020 13:51

Tested Sat midday, still no result. Sigh.

fruitypancake · 22/12/2020 14:11

You are giving me hope x
