Pointsetta oi most of that lambs Welsh! I’ll swap you for some highland beef and a dram though?

DrizzleandDamp · 20/12/2020 23:41

My bold clearly is shit I’ll give you that!

europilgrim · 20/12/2020 23:41

I wonder if this is going to affect shopping orders later in the week or if the supermarkets will "ringfence" some of the goods that people have already ordered? My mum has a supermarket order booked and she can't leave the house.

AlohaMolly · 20/12/2020 23:41

This has really triggered my anxiety, which has, this year, manifested in obsessive food control. Since August last year I’ve steadily been building my supplies, solely for a No Deal brexit, then Covid happened and it ate into my supplies... and now I’m fighting the urge to go and buy bread tomorrow at 9am.

Fucking Tory bastard incompetent government.

EnPoinsettia · 20/12/2020 23:43

@drizzleanddamp Anything for our ffrindiau Cymru

Circumlocutious · 20/12/2020 23:43

Fuck.

Looks like a 7am Co-op trip for fruit and veg is in order.

AlecTrevelyan006 · 20/12/2020 23:43

According to the BBC Hancock scared the EU horses this morning by saying on the Marr show the new virus strain is out of control whilst trying to justify the Tier 4 restrictions, way to go you twat

Problem now is that if it’s as bad as the govt proclaims then they can’t really blame the rest of Europe for wanting to keep us out

Originalyellowbelly · 20/12/2020 23:44

I didn't think things could get much worse but I just checked the tv schedule for Christmas, thank goodness for alcohol.

DesdemonaDryEyes · 20/12/2020 23:44

Oh no. We are all going to starve.

@Florelei

Does anyone else feel like they are starring in a low budget zombie apocalypse movie? It’s all very surreal.
@Florelei YES. Yes I do. Looking at Sky News recently was just bonkers, it was like watching a film. Except it was real
EnPoinsettia · 20/12/2020 23:48

It really is Upper Class Twit of the Year competition again.

VulvaPerson · 20/12/2020 23:48

It was reported in the news last week that Brussels were threatening to ban UK air travel over Europe as of January if a deal couldn't be agreed. Then, who'd of thought it, a mutated strain of covid causes an overnight u-turn by the government over Christmas rules (despite it knowingly having been in circulation for a couple of months now) and a number of European countries ban flights to/from the UK as a result. All rather convenient really...

I have to say, I am kind of suspicious about the timing of all of this. There was going to be a shitshow in a week or so anyway, Suddenly a 'new strain' causes all of this. Interesting timing really, now any Brexit shite can be written off as covid shite instead! Brexit was a roaring sucess, look, we were right, but covid fucked it..damn!

OhDear2200 · 20/12/2020 23:50

Lying in bed panicking. We’ve got LOADS of alcohol in, but little fresh veg. Having to resist the urge of getting out of my bed to go buy veg at midnight.

Some one slap me.

VodselForDinner · 20/12/2020 23:51

When families are worried about buying food tonight, I really don't give a fuck if you are pissed off

I don’t expect you to care. Best of luck with your shopping trip and I hope you get everything your family will need for the next while.

But just remember the words of Priti Patel when discussing the impact of food shortages caused by Brexit could have on another EU nation-

“Why hasn’t this point been pressed home during negotiations?”

The British government were happy to starve another nation to get what they want, don’t expect too much shock from your neighbours when it turns out the British government is also willing to take the same approach with their own people.

justgeton · 20/12/2020 23:52

No point stockpiling fresh stuff.

All you'll do is deprive others and end up chucking out rotten stuff

My mum has a supermarket order booked and she can't leave the house.

Mine has just been effectively cancelled, in as much as everything on it is now unavailable.

Covidnomore · 20/12/2020 23:57

Vodsel she is a despicable woman, just like all her cronies.

Talk is talk. This isn't talk. I think your posts are insensitive tonight.

We know the British govt is culpable, we know the British press is just as culpable but let's not pretend the EU are angels. Each and every one of them is playing games.

But this is devastating for the UK. This is worse than a No Deal Brexit. And we know this strain is in Europe. They have either not identified it, or are choosing not to publicise it.

Really hope not many go down this road (thugh seems to be a few threads on here outright encouraging it Hmm )

Selfishly, as we have't done the xmas shop yet. And can't til Tuesday. By which time, the shelves will be bare, and we will be on beans on..beans for xmas dinner (as have no bread at the min, til tuesday!) while stockpilers are chucking bags of fresh stckpiled veg in the bin Grin

JayAlfredPrufrock · 20/12/2020 23:58

Just checked my click and collect and my mushrooms and beetroot are no longer available.

Doomed.

OhDear2200 · 20/12/2020 23:59
