Gosh I am so impatient, exposed to two separate cases thursday and friday last week (guess where I work?), they informed me Sunday evening and Monday I got symptoms (fever Monday evening, sore throat, flu-like symptoms), tested 8am yesterday. I feel fairly ok, no idea what I have, but the not knowing is doing my head in. I'm currently self-isolating in my bedroom away from the family to try and stop it spreading (they would have to isolate over christmas :( we'd like to at least go out for a walk! and I don't want my husband and children to be ill if I can help it). But, if this is just some weird snot-less cold then I'd like to start going back to life.

Glad you got your result @Lifeispassingby. Sorry to hear about your FIL though.

Lifeispassingby · 18/12/2020 16:10

@Thingstodotoday thank you, we’ve been dressing catching it at this point but glad I didn’t have it. We were planning to be isolating from today anyway as we have finished work for Xmas so it’s given us a slightly longer isolation I guess x

Lifeispassingby · 18/12/2020 16:13

*dreading not dressing

Finally came through Negative yay!

RAINSh0wers · 18/12/2020 17:53

I’m still waiting Hmm I have a feeling when it finally comes through it’ll be inconclusive. DD wasn’t particularly cooperative!

AHippoNamedBooBooButt · 18/12/2020 18:49

I managed to get a drive through appointment yesterday at 2pm so currently 29hours of waiting. I’m feeling impatient not knowing and also concerned that my Dh and dd are still going to work potentially spreading whatever I have (fwiw I don’t have the must isolate the house symptoms - I had a minor tickle in the throat tues and yesterday a slightly raised temp but below the 37.8 fever level. Today I just feel like I have really bad jet lag - extreme tiredness, nauseas, gastro pains etc). Hope everyone gets results soon

undercoverhero74 · 18/12/2020 19:42

I was tested at 5pm on Wednesday and still no results! Both DSS and DSD have tested positive so we are getting rather impatient now 😩

If you have symptoms that mean you needed a test they need to be isolating even if they aren't the classic signs. I hope it is negative for you.

But the symptoms aren’t the official testing ones - I only got a test because I’m self isolating after being a close contact. If I hadn’t been a close contact, I probably wouldn’t test because I don’t have a fever above 37.8, I haven’t had any change to my sense of smell and taste and I wouldn’t class a mild tickle in the throat as a continuous cough. It’s the whole, where do you draw the line?

RAINSh0wers · 18/12/2020 22:49

I just got DD’s results through (after 60 hours), negative thankfully. The text still hasn’t come through but the email did about half an hour ago.

Notashandyta · 19/12/2020 00:49

My husband had a test at 12pm today.

Never even thought about how crappy the wait would be. This thread has helped a bit!
At least I have hope 24/7 of hearing something...

undercoverhero74 · 19/12/2020 08:25

Finally had the results through at 0620hrs this morning. Negative 😊

LloydBC · 19/12/2020 09:42

40 hours and counting. Very very frustrated and I just don’t think it’s good enough. It means a long delay between testing, results and then track and trace. I’m not surprised our numbers are climbing out of control.
@FurForksSake you can't Book another for 10 days in between.

That's why it's silly when people test because they've been in contact, get a negative and then feel ill but can't get another one
I had two tests 4 days apart and no problems
