Waiting for Results

Gosh I am so impatient, exposed to two separate cases thursday and friday last week (guess where I work?), they informed me Sunday evening and Monday I got symptoms (fever Monday evening, sore throat, flu-like symptoms), tested 8am yesterday. I feel fairly ok, no idea what I have, but the not knowing is doing my head in. I'm currently self-isolating in my bedroom away from the family to try and stop it spreading (they would have to isolate over christmas :( we'd like to at least go out for a walk! and I don't want my husband and children to be ill if I can help it). But, if this is just some weird snot-less cold then I'd like to start going back to life.

I got my results! Positive. Quarantining till christmas day. What a year.

Oh no! Sorry to hear that @FurForksSake but atleast it shows that there's no difference in speed or length of time for a positive or negative result

53 long hours! But I feel more relaxed knowing it is it, I've got it and I can just try and kick it and continue. Hoping I have some nice antibodies to go back to school with in the New Year.

I don’t think you’re blocked. I had a test Sunday and booked home test a couple
Days later; I dont think the system is that sophisticated...

@Annny27 that’s good!! I’m still waiting, although it’s only been 40hrs so may have some more to wait yet! Am hoping my test is negative because we have DFil funeral on Xmas eve. DH is feeling unwell today but that could just be exhaustion from everything 🤞🤞

Just got my negative result at 4am on Friday after testing on midday on Weds. (And also having a wasted 6 mile round trip on foot the day before after the website sent me to a drive through only rather than walkthrough centre Sad). I even rang and double checked it was also walkthrough and they insisted it was. The guys at the testing place said several other people had turned up on foot and got turned away.

@Bramblespoint not yet, I’m at 54hrs so think w head ours around the same time! I’m feeling better today although not 100% but DH is really poorly today so would really like to know what the result is!

I had my DD tested on Wednesday at 9am, still waiting for her results. Meanwhile she’s now bouncing off the walls Hmm they really need to find a way to make turn the results around quicker, I can see how some people under pressure from work etc would give up waiting.

@RAINSh0wers mine was done at 7:30am weds. Luckily work are fine with me being off but i am conscious that my contacts are still carrying on normally whilst we await the result! I’m sure the delay in test results will be contributing to the increase in spread

I was tested at 9am on Tuesday and I got my results 10pm on thursday

Hope you all get your results soon. Mine arrived by email a couple of hours before the text confirmation arrived.
I was looking out for a text and wouldn’t have thought to check the email first. I only did so as someone on here mentioned it.

As mentioned mine came in 26 hours

Partner has been waiting 74 so far and still no result! Doesn’t really matter as we’re isolating together but there are clearly delays happening - assume lots of people tried to get tests before xmas.
