The Christmas laws are in place for this year only because the conditions are bad. If we didn't need to take care, there's be no law in place! So it should be relevant to these specific conditions, not something we need to make a judgement on.

Do we think its possible that they could do a u-turn and extend school reopening dates in the New Year to make up for the fact they have cocked up the Xmas messaging? My eldest is autistic and has really struggled with missing school due to lockdown/isolating etc

I dont think many of his older children are actually that much in contact with him - I cant imagine they would want to see him
