Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

@OhYouBadBadKitten Do you have any delivery passes? If you do, Ocado Reserved is working again. Or could you buy a delivery pass for Sainsbury’s? Only asking as since I bought one in September (to replace my Asda pass that failed to auto renew) I’ve had no problem getting slots - just checked and there’s slots available from 27th to 30th for me to book. I’m wondering if they give priority to pass holders like Tesco.

If you’ve got access to Asda, they are selling passes again, and they will guarantee you a weekly reserved slot.

XJen · 15/12/2020 10:24

I had a couple of missing bags and a couple of extra bags with my delivery. There is a lot of meat and stuff we wouldn't normally use. Someone is really going to miss those bags. Ocado won't come and collect them. At least we get a refund and get to keep the extra shopping. Not ideal...

GarytheRedNosedUnicorn · 15/12/2020 11:11

I can’t book any slots at all, not even for January. And they have the nerve to charge me £9.99 for my pass. They are a shower of shite.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/12/2020 11:15

I’ve got one for 2nd jan, but nothing after and the previous one is 22nd Dec.

Christmas slot still has everything OOS ....

BuntysTwinkle · 15/12/2020 12:08

Has anyone else watched their emailed Ocado year video yet? As my DN would say, I feel called out Grin

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/12/2020 12:10

Thanks for the new thread. I hardly like to mention I got my free shortbread a few days ago and my Smart Pass is being renewed at the same as the current price (£6.99 a month). We don't seem to be having the same out of stock problems as many of you - I wonder if it's down to the depot or what I order.

@bruffin, thanks for the tip about Oddbox. We got our first delivery recently too. With the £10 off first delivery, it was extremely reasonable. I think I will probably use it regularly, as they seem to be very flexible about allowing customers to skip weeks or order extra.

Ocado's just sent me a personalised video thanking me for my custom and showing me my most purchased item/type of item (Yeo Valley yogurt and fruit/veg). Apparently I was one of the first purchasers of Cornish Cruncher Cheddar with Balsamic Onions, and whoever it was on the previous thread who recommended it, thanks, as it's lovely.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 15/12/2020 12:14

@buntystwinkle - that video of the year roundup is literally the only thing that might keep me shopping with them! I order too much cravendale milk :( (i think it was lockdown - making sure that we had milk that lasted forever)
(1st waitrose delivery coming today; no charge, one substitution of andrex iwth andrex. Specified numbers of leeks / courgettes rather than bundles of inconvenient quantities. Bring it)

BuntysTwinkle · 15/12/2020 12:15

"As of my knowledge, we are generally phasing out products that are not as fresh as others on the market place. This is simply to offer our customers an organic, healthy and fresh product, instead of one that is designed to last longer"

Ironic when Ocado just this week announced they are stocking up on long life items in preparation for Brexit.

BuntysTwinkle · 15/12/2020 12:21

Apparently - outing myself to Ocado here - I am the number one orderer of M&S lemonade... We order 2-3 bottles a week. I like to add squeezed lemon juice to make it peppier, and DS can drink it because there are no migraine-inducing sweeteners. But I'm a bit embarrassed to think that we're drinking more of it than anyone else in the country Blush

MatildaonaWaltzer · 15/12/2020 12:24

I hope you feel like you've won an oscar, bunty. I am only county champion

BuntysTwinkle · 15/12/2020 12:26

Actually, seeing my stats I've just made a decision to start eating a lot more organic fruit and veg. I feel a bit neurotic that Ocado has just congratulated me for ordering so much sugary processed food and drink this year...

wendz86 · 15/12/2020 12:29

My most bought products were baked beans, cucumber and grapes.. exciting stuff.

bruffin · 15/12/2020 12:33

I was one of the first purchasers of a brand of creme fraiche and my most ordered was bagels (2 bags a week for dh breakfast)

Nat6999 · 15/12/2020 12:33

Ocado are releasing some slots 48 hours before delivery time. I managed to get a slot today on Sunday after missing the Christmas slots.

viccat · 15/12/2020 12:35

I'm the top buyer of Robinson's Crushed Apple & Cinnamon winter cordial in the SE London region. Grin Although my most bought product was Innocent Hazelnut milk. And I was the first to buy M&S sprouting broccoli...

Fuss · 15/12/2020 12:45

Well mine was embarrassing....

I am apparently my counties top orderer, and the top orderer in the county of drumroll oven chips. I was also one of the first to buy Percy Pig Ice Cream syrup. My most bought product is Jacksons bread.

It's actually annoyed me. I'm their best customer in a large county and yet I don't get shortbread, Christmas slots or any smart pass reduction.
If anything it's just strengthened my resolve to bugger off next year.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 15/12/2020 12:54

send them an email saying just that, @fuss. Would be fascinated to hear their response.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/12/2020 13:25

How do you all know these amazing Ocado facts? Do they email you? If so typically they haven’t emailed me.....

bruffin · 15/12/2020 13:32

I got an email today Dobby

Have you checked your spam email, it comes from [email protected]

Id rather they used the information to see what i used to order and bring those items back.

AdaColeman · 15/12/2020 13:39

Xmas Grin Xmas Grin Loved my little video! I was amongst the first to buy rose veal escalopes! And my top purchase is Prestat chocolates, my darling Dad would be proud of me, as he often used to schlep to Princes Arcade to get a bag as a treat for me.

tootyfruitypickle · 15/12/2020 13:43

My county’s top orderer of cat food.

Well, that says it all about my life really!!

tootyfruitypickle · 15/12/2020 13:44

Top purchase is milk.
God I’m dull 😂

Vivarium · 15/12/2020 13:45

Can't believe how shit Ocado has become now.

So many things out of stock. So few delivery slots. Such a massively early cut-off time for finalising any order.

It's just not working, is it? Have they tried to take on huge numbers of customers without taking on the staff (and improving the systems) to deal with them?

I will jump ship soon. I'm only sticking with them for the moment because I have 16 years' worth of brownie points and I get good priority on deliveries, and that could be handy with lockdowns and Brexit. But otherwise they are laughably shite.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/12/2020 13:50

Checked my spam, but nothing. Maybe they’ll get round to emailing me!

Fuss · 15/12/2020 13:54

@MatildaonaWaltzer

send them an email saying just that, *@fuss*. Would be fascinated to hear their response.
I think it would be the standard bluster tbh.
