Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

Well, this is heartbreaking. Xmas Grin Still no video - even though I placed a new order this morning!

What might I be a top buyer of? Marigold rubber gloves? Cider vinegar? 5kg bags of bath salts? ...

CoteFolie · 15/12/2020 18:54

Terribly boring here. My most purchased was semi skimmed milk. The Ocado variety Smile

Sadly I'm not the top buyer of anything but I did use green slots and buy things from the eco aisle (whatever that is). So boring....

My first thought was I would prefer to have clarity on slot booking and more in stock items rather than twee videos but I may be be too grumpy. Confused

IsThisNameTaken · 15/12/2020 19:19

I'm not a top buyer of anything either - but my 'treat' is Whiskas Poultry selection pack! Most bought product is apparently naked bacon, which it definitely isn't .... unless it's done on money spent on that product rather than units of the product.
They're also offering me Christmas slots again now - after not being able to provide one when I might have been interested in booking one. Sorry Ocado, that ship sailed a few weeks ago!

Fruggalo · 15/12/2020 19:21

I (well, Mr Fruggalo, as the account is in his name) am Hampshire’s top orderer of ocado size 5 nappies.

Obviously that means there are non in stock today.

Ontheboardwalk · 15/12/2020 19:24

I’m Ocado's top orderer of cat litter and my most loved product is bread

I’ve noticed they’ve not included any alcohol or chocolate in the summary. I reckon I’d have very different results if they did

happilybemused · 15/12/2020 19:35

Top orderer of Smints here in Hampshire. I never won any award at school so I am taking it 😂

GiantKitten · 15/12/2020 19:39

This was my summary.
I can’t imagine what the other 24% can have been.

’ve got one for 2nd jan, but nothing after and the previous one is 22nd Dec.

I had an order yesterday (14 Dec) and can't get anything coming up. I check daily.

They have just released some slots for this Sunday for £9.99. (no thanks). I would like to book something in January.

viccat · 15/12/2020 19:52

I booked a delivery for 12th January today (and have one every week leading up to it). There are no slots showing in December any longer though.

RaaRaaLaLaLaa · 15/12/2020 19:56

@StanfordPines yes they have always sold Caramel wafers. Both the milk ones and the dark ones. We've always got a packet a week.

They was a shortage on lockdown as the factory closed downs and you couldn't get them anywhere so maybe it was then.

StanfordPines · 15/12/2020 20:27

Youse can all look on at me in awe as I was Ocado’s top orderer of Clipper hot chocolate.

MatildaonaWaltzer · 15/12/2020 20:32

I may be Ocado county champion of crackers, but Waitrose just did their first delivery and substituted nothing and provided green bananas and no plastic for the loose veg so I am OFF

supadupapupascupa · 15/12/2020 22:32

No issues here. Full delivery's, free shortbread, rare substitutions, reserved slot weekly (all year).
Yes things are out of stock but I think this is a supply chain issue not specific to Ocado. Our ports are rammed. Expect worse post brexit.
I've started buying local fruit and veg, partly to support local, mainly to reduce plastic.
Meat from butchers in town.
But I know the other supermarkets are doing no better so why swap?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 15/12/2020 22:38

I'm on the CEV list still. Can't get any more deliveries from them at all after today's.

Quarantino · 15/12/2020 22:38

My top product was.... bread

Not too bad delivery today except I ordered two packs of felt tip pens (they were BOGO half price) and they could only supply one. Bit weird. It's for my child's stocking though so glad I got one.

Quarantino · 15/12/2020 22:41

Oh and I managed to get a delivery on the 29th. I am every 2 weeks like clockwork.
Looking forward to when things get back to normal and I can go to real supermarkets twice a week if I want for a shorter shop and use Ocado for my backup stuff whenever I feel like. I feel like I waste so much food doing a weekly shop - e.g. a bag of carrots would probably last 1.5 weeks but I pick one up weekly anyway to make sure I don't run out if I left it another week.

Puffler · 15/12/2020 23:37

I posted on the other thread, I’m officially done with Ocado - I cancelled my smart pass last week after eight years!

My first non-Ocado shop was from Sainsburys and it was very good, nothing out of stock or substituted. I have Waitrose booked this week to try that.

I’m fed up with not being able to get slots, when I do it’s got a very early cut off date and everything is out of stock anyway. It feels like they have far fewer products now but maybe that’s because I ordered a lot of Waitrose stuff.

I liked the video because the % thing I ordered most of was fruit and veg! Although individual product that was top was eggs!

Goslowlysideways · 16/12/2020 02:39

I managed to get a new slot for Monday but nothing from M&S is in stock. Every Christmas thing Is unavailable. But you just know M&S will be full of stuff and reducing it! I’m so fed up of it!

ElectricEels · 16/12/2020 03:40

County champion of ordering Alpro growing up milk cartons. I actually shudder to think how much I've spent on that Grin

Order today has no substitutions. Mine rarely do have anything substituted or missing. My trials of tesco and Morrison's have been awful on that front. Waitrose here are very good but as it's a small store the stock options are limited.

I can also still book up to 4 weeks ahead. I had my smart pass renewed and it went up from £1.99-2.99.

I have a Christmas order with Christmas things in it, granted not the turkey- I don't trust them that much Grin

Timbucktime · 16/12/2020 09:06

My delivery today was all fine bar 1 loaf of bread with a big dent in it.
I only seem to be able to get a weekly slot because by some stroke of luck I managed to sign up to Reserved in September.
My 12 month mid week delivery pass was up in mid September but I’ve never received any communication from them about it and it still just takes £1.49 from my bank account each month, no increase.
I was never offered a free toblerone or shortbread but did manage to get a free bar of chocolate for a few weeks.

Madcats · 16/12/2020 10:03

I am not the county champion of ANYTHING! As I suspected, the bulk of my orders were for store-cupboard items and number 1 was goats milk!

I have a £3.99 30 December slot and a basket full of "not very exciting, but heavy, stuff" as an insurance. It's hard to say how busy our supermarkets will be (as so many people usually travel back 'home'/go on holiday).

viccat · 16/12/2020 16:15

Everything should be arriving in today's delivery, hurrah!

I had a strange "ghost" item in my order though that I removed from my basket when editing but it kept showing up on the order confirmation email but wasn't in my basket anymore to delete it when I tried to edit again. It is arriving too. No massive problem as it is something I can use but just a strange technical glitch.

Florelei · 16/12/2020 16:35

Quite a few Xmas slots just appeared for me in Durham just now. There was a good availability of produce as well. I managed to get a 21/12 slot.

StanfordPines · 16/12/2020 17:18

I wonder if people are rethinking their Christmas plans and are cancelling orders.

My order which should have cut off at 2pm today is still editable...

StanfordPines · 16/12/2020 17:20

The only day over Xmas I can see is the 20th but that is now nearly completely free.
