Carrying on from the old Ocado thread. www.mumsnet.com/Talk/coronavirus/a4045676-Ocado-tips-hacks-Toblerone-and-Christmas?msgid=102560793#102560793

I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

No, all randomly chucked in.

I’d ordered a bag of Cadbury’s mini eggs. They’d subbed it with. 5 individual crepe eggs which I didn’t want. So the driver was fishing around for the eggs.

Only things in bags were fridge, frozen. But not all fridge! and fresh flowers.

bruffin · 28/02/2021 17:49

I had some free kitkat bunnies in my shopping this week, they just turned up in one of the bags, a bit weird.
I discovered they dont do luxery fresh custard anymore as i fancied some only tubs of low fat, it wasnt as if they were out of stock, they just dont seem to stock it

orangenasturtium · 28/02/2021 17:57

It took me three attempts to cancel they wrote an email which said are you sure you want to cancel as we won’t let you be a smart pass holder again

That is really shocking @redpandaalert! I would be screenshotting that and posting it on their Twitter.

I thought about going to waitrose in store yesterday to get some bits I'm missing but some very officious woman wouldn't let me and dd (12) in together. And I remembered why I do everything online atm. Except for the garden centre which had no problem letting people in in pairs, so we went there instead.

tootyfruitypickle · 28/02/2021 18:17

We were only out to pick up her glasses from the opticians, so I thought I'd combine errands, I couldn't leave her standing in the middle of the street . It was all very waitrosy. Prefer Ocado anyway (sniff).

Was initially impressed with Sainsburys order, as only 2 (sensible) subs. But salad bag was split and spilt over my doorstep - driver refunded - and half of the bag of apples was completely rotten, and a large bag of rice had a small split in it so was spilling rice everywhere once I'd started packing away.
To get a refund is a faff, they give you a twitter link you can DM them and it's a sort of automated message service. So I've had to give my name and address over twitter dm.

Timbucktime · 02/03/2021 11:33

Just had a thought. I had crushed eggs in my delivery last wed.
I immediately went on the website and requested a refund and received an email confirmation but still haven’t received an email to say they are actually refunding me.
Doesn’t normally take this long.

Oh dear, that’s rubbish. I don’t have Twitter so don’t know what they’d do for me.

I've just nipped into BM:

Moo Milk - 65p Ocado £1.10
Gaviscon - £7.50 Ocado £8.50

Thats £2.80 I saved on just 2 items. (4 bottles of milk). I'm not sure I can justify this much longer, it rankles. Especially after this mornings Smart Pass payment email for another £9.99

Over Twitter? Is that the only way you can do it? A lot of people don’t have Twitter.

At lunchtime, I went to eat some of the M&S cooked chicken I’d bought and it was off, the day before the use-by date. Wrote a review and noticed someone else had reviewed the product today, saying exactly the same. Now both our reviews have disappeared.

I really don’t like the M&S product range. It’s not a patch on Waitrose, and it seems that Ocado are now quickly removing negative reviews from the website. I’m only staying for the availability of delivery slots at this stage. I’d be off like a shot if I could get a Waitrose slot.

Beeeees · 02/03/2021 18:55

There's a phone number and I think Facebook too. There used to be a form you could fill in. They took ages to respond to that though. Twitter is faster at least.

It's worth having a twitter account just for customer service things, it's weirdly the best way to get companies to help you. I'm not sure if that's a good thing or not.

Quarantino · 02/03/2021 19:06

Yes, you can request Sainsbury refunds by phone or Facebook as well (and they have a BSL option). I'm not spending time on the phone to sort out clearly manky apples! It was fast on Twitter though. You get a voucher rather than a refund which isn't ideal - although I got a direct refund for the item I noticed damaged on delivery.

Ocado at least makes it easy and I've never had a quibble even when I've been asking for at least one refund a week (always had 1 thing with burst packaging or totally mouldy).

Foxhasbigsocks · 02/03/2021 19:29

Oh dear how depressing the reviews are being culled. I used to really value the review function on Ocado as I found the reviews pretty honest.

The product range is so reduced now. Dp and I have decided to switch as soon as we are vaccinated

PursuingProxemicExactitude · 02/03/2021 19:48

This thread dropped off my TIO - because I hadn't had any complaints to post. I assumed everyone else was also finding Ocado finally trouble free!

Clearly not. Sorry some of you are having such troubles with them. I have noticed there are far fewer Offers on Favourites, but things have generally improved otherwise.

CoteFolie · 03/03/2021 08:10

I got the app back yesterday and I had forgotten how much easier it makes everything.

Things have got better - fewer OOS, substitutions and more slots but agree about the prices and particularly the limited range. If nothing else, I'll be keen to shop elsewhere just for the variation.

@CoteFolie THANK YOU! Flowers Just checked and I’ve got it back too now - they didn’t tell me, did they tell you? Very pleased anyway Smile
StanfordPines · 03/03/2021 10:50

Bastards.
They don’t have fresh yeast anymore.

Quarantino · 03/03/2021 13:44

I've still not got the app back!
I completely missed with my Sains delivery that the one product I wanted from Sains and therefore was the reason for choosing them, just wasn't available at delivery, so I didn't get it. I'd only looked at the subs bit of the email!

CoteFolie · 03/03/2021 13:47

@GiantKitten That's great.

I got an e-Mail the previous evening but the app still didn't let me in and I gave up. The following day the website took me straight to the app!

I think I appreciate the one click button more than ever now!

Which M&S chicken was it? (I have some that arrived today!)

No subs for me recently, it's been good generally.

Dwigvk · 03/03/2021 13:52

How could you tell it was off? Did it smell?

GCAcademic · 03/03/2021 14:44

@Dwigvk

How could you tell it was off? Did it smell?
Yes, it smelt off. It was the cooked chicken breast. Both my review and the other person's saying the same thing have reappeared on the product page since my last post on here.
GCAcademic · 03/03/2021 14:46

I know. I was so sad about that, it was something I bought weekly. It came from Sweden and had a short shelf life, though, so I guess there may have been post-Brexit import issues.
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/03/2021 10:26

Bags are going to be taken back again from Monday. Just got an email about it. It'll take me several deliveries to clear our bag mountain!
**
We’re restarting our carrier bag recycling scheme on 8th March. From that date onwards, you’ll be able to hand back a bag full of bags to be collected by our delivery drivers.
Please let your driver know how many you are handing back. You’ll be refunded for the amount that you tell the driver you’re returning.
To stay COVID secure, please leave your bagful of bags on your doorstep and our drivers will pick it up using an outer liner. You’ll be refunded 5p per bag for up to 99 Ocado bags at a time. If you have more than this amount, you can create another bagful to be taken during your next delivery.
For more information about carrier bag collection, please see our FAQs linked below.
