I have been contributing, just changed my name to prevent being outed over something!

According to this, the new purple is "grape".

Once in a blue moon I pop my phone apps into folders.

Most of the apps in my "shopping folder" are logos on white backgrounds (Amazon/eBay/IKEA/Gap....). Ocado doesn't look distinctive any more.

Did Ocado used to be purple many moons ago? I remember mauve carrier bags before the grey with red/green/purple writing?

I had a delivery recently which was due 7.30-8.30 (am). They usually arrive not long after 7.30 and the text saying they're on their way arrives about 10 minutes before they do, so I'm not taken unawares. On this day the driver rang the bell at 7.10 with no text or call in advance to check it was convenient. He'd probably guessed we were awake as there was a light on downstairs, but in fact we were still in bed semi-comatose with our morning tea, so it wasn't great timing. He made no mention of being so early, let alone apologising, and I was still so much on the back foot neither did I. Should have done. He also didn't mention the substitutions so I had no chance to hand anything back. It was very much dump and run on his part. Pah.

This stays in my mind as it's so unusual, though. In 16 years with Ocado almost all their drivers have been great.

Oh, and the text saying 'We're on our way' arrived 20 minutes after he'd left!

I have been looking at substitution policy at other supermarkets and i think the only supermarket that charges for more expensive subs are morrisons and ocado, does this seem right
Yes, and they also don't allow you to choose no substitutions on individual items or even overall.
They have had plenty of time to catch up with Tesco etc who do this, plus I notice Tesco even now have a Notes option which I assume allows you to tell the picker exactly what subs are good etc.
Plus Morrisons at least have the habit of leaving shopping on doorstep and legging it back to van before I can reject the subs and their customer services take about 30 mins to answer and are not nice at all about giving refunds for subs that you didn't ask for but didn't get a chance to give back.

Plus the bloody bags. Please give an option for no bags. I hate having 10 bags with a couple of items in that I have to delve into, with the recently-touched handles brushing on my arms, clothes etc. Not great in a pandemic for someone a little twitchy about virus transmission.

We were fast asleep as it was Saturday and no home school (yey)!

8.30am no lights on and curtains closed.

My delivery was due 9.30-10.30. He also made no mention of the fact he was early. We leapt out of bed and pulled clothes on to answer the door.

Same driver that did this to us over Christmas with someone else’s order. Woke us up then too.

I thought they had to ring in advance to see if it was convenient. If it had been another time of day it’s reasonable to think we might not be in.

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone could give me an idea of when Waitrose give out their delivery slots? I have been using Waitrose click and collect for months and it works well. Unfortunately MIL has been diagnosed with Cancer, we are now going to be in her support bubble to help care for her- so I would really like to move to deliveries to stop me having to enter a supermarket.

All businesses up their own arse when it comes to branding though, so long as I get my shopping I don't care

Funnily enough my delivery was 40 minutes early this week with no warning.

Mine came 20 minutes early this morning

I think because so many people are at home now, they assume it's okay to be early - I haven't had calls like I used to get. I understand them wanting to get a longer break or head off early, but very occasionally we do go out for a walk or a doctor's appointment!

I get they know you are home. But I won’t book a 8am slot incase they turn up at 7am.

They only allow me to book a Saturday slot so I do like a lie in.

Our last few have been about 30 minutes early. I’m normally in but I’m going to work still so I could well be out.

The work was carried out with Jones Knowles Ritchie, St Luke’s, Space Doctors, Ipsos and Kindling, and rolled out to the Ocado website this week.

I’m just saying I wish I could even order. They only started to deliver to my area 2020 and I did have a pass but couldn’t even access website so when I finally could I cancelled pass.
Now when I check I can access site but there as no delivery slots.
I check every day sometimes middle of night when I can’t sleep.

I check every day as well and there is never a slot to be had.

Believe me I wouldn't mind if they came a bit early.

I’ve got reserved so I’m all booked up for deliveries but I’ve just looked and I could get a delivery on Monday if I wanted and most of Tuesday is available too.

Loads of stuff in my basket. Well over £100. I put some booze in to get the cost up to see if it would make a difference but it didn't.

The delivery I had booked (as detailed before) was for Sun 24, but when I was editing it yesterday it showed next available as Sun 31, and I didn’t really want it as soon as 24th so I changed it - now it’s showing I could have one tomorrow!

Makes no sense to me.

I’m in Lancs, I don’t know exactly where my orders come from but that might make a difference?
