Grin I have similar today - Hellmann's light arriving in place of the real thing. Sad

I too got an Elmlea cream substitutions. I agree with you in general but I was using the cream for cooking so grudgingly accepted it.

bruffin · 15/01/2021 08:19

I have been looking at substitution policy at other supermarkets and i think the only supermarket that charges for more expensive subs are morrisons and ocado, does this seem right?

Madcats · 15/01/2021 12:15

Waitrose honours the price of the original item, if subbed. I think they honour offers in 3 for 2's etc too (but I always add picker notes to tell them what to do in those circumstances).

My local(ish) butcher that delivers just finds random stuff costing a bit more from the deli shelves (so I had some smoked garlic salt and some chutney in place of veggie burgers in the summer)!

My local Coop (non delivery), will often let us sub for their crazily cheap junk food offers (like pizza, beer and ice cream for a fiver).

EveLe · 15/01/2021 12:16

I think so @bruffin. Asda and Tesco both price match subs on delivery, Sainsbury's charge the higher price but then issue a voucher for the difference off the next shop.

Florelei · 15/01/2021 12:23

Yay - I have access to the app again

OMG!! ME TOO!
FurForksSake · 15/01/2021 16:18

Me too! I went for registering using facebook that was linked and then that let me in! Hooray!

Madcats · 15/01/2021 16:39

No app for me (though what it would let me see is rather purple). Do you think the lawyers at Cadburys are sharpening their pencils and dusting off their laptops?

Now that Ocado is "mostly purple" their swirly "O" does look very similar to the Cadbury logo.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/01/2021 17:03

I thought I was on the wrong website when it was purple.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 15/01/2021 17:03

Red cabbage purple.

Stokes is much better than Helman’s...
Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 15/01/2021 17:24

I'll bear that in mind!

GiantKitten · 15/01/2021 18:30

@osprey24

Has anyone else noticed that they no longer stock Eden meats? The mega burgers and sausages were the best.
@osprey24 I’ve just come across an article about post-Brexit trade which says there are issues with chilled meat products coming from Ireland. Eden stuff was “British & Irish” so that might be the reason? Ireland has historically shipped loads of fresh food here. I don’t know how all that will be affected. We’ve been the market for over 50% of their beef and 80% of their mushrooms. (And apparently they can’t have Percy Pigs now because they ship from Germany first Confused

It’s taking me a while to get used to the purple. I have to think twice every time.
Are they trying to move away from the Waitrose connection? I know it’s not quite the same colour, but it was similar (& fairly close to Asda’s green too...)

Stock levels are weird. I always have 8 pints of milk a week. Now they say I can only have 4 pints. If I choose another brand of milk I can have 8 pints.

BentBastard · 15/01/2021 20:51

I have not had any limits on milk (and I buy a lot more than you!)

Florelei · 16/01/2021 07:49

Our order is coming today and I’ve just checked its status. It’s going to be 1.5 hrs late.

Sainsburys too but you get a voucher for the difference.

I think so
lexloofah · 16/01/2021 09:04

Doesn't the name Ocado come from avocado? Which is why the original branding was green?

The new purple doesn't leap out at me for my apps but I suppose my brain can re-train. It's a funny thing to do when there seem to be bigger issues to deal with but I suppose it has been in the pipeline for a while earning branding consultants a shed load of cash

DobbyTheHouseElk · 16/01/2021 09:26

To me green looks healthy.

Purple is cadburys.

My delivery was an hour early. Woke us up.
