Just for fun and a general nosey.

If everyone was vaccinated and/or covid disappeared, here is my list of things I would do.

Visit my 6 week old niece - havent met her yet.

Spend time with all of my siblings and their families.

Have a brew with my mum and dad.

Catch up with friends. Board game night needed asap.

Go to a pub (I don't even drink, I just want the vibe).

Mooch around the local shops in the nearby seaside town - they are mostly independent shops and I have wanted a browse for years but the kids would be bored so I haven't yet.

Go to a music festival in summer.

Start going to gigs (haven't been to one in years).

Take my kids to London - eldest has been harping on about this all lockdown. We live in the north.

Visit my relatives in the south. This could tie in nicely with said London trip.

Go on a well deserved holiday abroad. Don't care where, but I've not been abroad in years and not holidayed at all since 2017.

Visit friends in Scotland.

Nothing like a pandemic to make you realise how much you miss having freedom.

What would everyone else do?

Visit my mum in care home, hold her hand and hug her .

Hug my adult son - I think we managed a couple of hugs in the Summer but we're now back to sitting apart in the garden .

Go on lots of holidays, one or two abroad but loads of U.K. breaks including catching up with friends and relatives who live in different parts of the country and a long weekend away with my best friend I've only seen distanced outdoors as she works with elderly /vulnerable.

Enjoy lots of meals out . And boozy catch up with my friends and work colleagues I haven't seen in person since March .

Buy back some extra annual leave from work so I've got the time available to do all the things I want to do .

Sadly I think I'll also have to return to my office . I haven't missed the commute or getting up early in the morning .

Mulhollandmagoo · 06/12/2020 21:31

Take my daughter to see my FIL, he's CEV so hasn't seen her since the end of Feb and he only lives a 20min drive away....facetime just isn't the same

I'm desperate to take my daughter to soft play (I know 🤣) but she started walking during lockdown and loves just climbing and being on the go, and shes never been before and I think she'd love it

And last (but absolutely not least) I'm desperate to go to the theatre again, I absolutely love it and I'm determined to give it a much needed boost as soon as we're allowed! I'm from the Midlands and there looks to be some good stuff on at the Birmingham hippodrome late next year

DustyOwl · 06/12/2020 21:34

Have a normal, chilled out Sunday at my
Mum and Dad's with all the family.

Hit a dance floor, any dance floor. I don't even care what the music is like.

Have friends over for food, with their kids and have a few drinks.

Have my sister's wedding, postponed from this year.

Celebrate ALL the 40ths, lots of our friends were born in 1980, one big party is on the cards.

A year ago this would have just been a list of things I would be doing anyway.

SexyGiraffe · 06/12/2020 21:35

Have a big party with all my friends. Go on holiday.

shinynewapple2020 · 06/12/2020 21:38

I shall also get an eye test and new glasses and get my hair done . I know I could do that now but given high cases numbers where I live I'm not confident for someone touching my face when it's not a necessity. I really should have got my eyes done in the Summer.

Jenasaurus · 06/12/2020 21:39

I would hope to carry on working from home at least 3 days a week, maybe come in for meetings, to show my fact to my team etc.

I would visit my family and go out to eat.

I would book a much needed holiday and I would join a gym to lose all the weight I have gained, and also possibly a slimming club

I also look forward to being able to try clothes on again and experience shopping like I used to be able to.

Oh and the cinema too, I only see certain films but its been a tradition to see the Star Wars films with my adult children each year and also the Annabell ones too with my DD

Then I would like to celebrate everyones birthdays that we were unable to do this year, including my own

Jenasaurus · 06/12/2020 21:40

Oh yes, eye test, dentist and doctors appointment on my list too
Nonochair · 06/12/2020 21:41

Have a big party for my big birthday
Go to a concert
Enter loads of races
Do my job properly-not the half assed job it has to be currently due to all the restrictions
Let my kids play with their cousins without worrying they are too close
Sit on the same sofa as my mum
Go to pubs with my friends.

I can’t wait. It seems so close now. I just hope everything goes to plan.

Jenasaurus · 06/12/2020 21:42

I have also got a list of home improvements I have been waiting to do

A new bathroom and rewiring plus new carpets and doors. I promised myself I would do up my home when I inherited some money but that has been put on hold

Jenasaurus · 06/12/2020 21:43

And visit the pub (if they survive)

Vinorosso74 · 06/12/2020 21:43

Go out to pub or reschedule for a relaxing evening. See friends and visit said pubs/restaurants/cafes. Take DD to her extra curricular activities which haven't happened since March! Swimming did then stopped and started again but no school clubs or dancing.

Ffsnosexallowed · 06/12/2020 21:45

Visit my mum, haven't seen her since July and just need to give her a hug. Plan a holiday. Night out at local tapas bar with lots of gin. Some proper time off work....

StCharlotte · 06/12/2020 21:46

Lick everyone and everything.

Actually I'd re-book the massive family party we had booked for several significant birthdays on 27th March. Sadly the pub we'd booked it at which had lots of family significance (my great-grandfather had been the landlord and my granny was born there) has since closed for good. Huge shame.

FestiveChristmasLights · 06/12/2020 21:47

I’m going to go indoors to eat some cake and drink tea with my friends.

Phyzzy · 06/12/2020 21:47
