I was at a staff meeting last week. We are all wfh - this is only the second time since March we have met in person, for a necessary reason. All the precautions were carried out - we met in a massive room, with masks on, chairs spaced 2m apart, plenty of sanitising etc. 2 days later someone at the meeting gets symptoms. They spoke to T&T and told them about staff meeting (along with other movements the week leading up to their symptoms), and were told that because all safety precautions were taken, no one at meeting has to isolate.
Now however everyone is getting T&T texts telling them to isolate for 14 days, presumably because the phone’s proximity Bluetooth thing has kicked in.
So, who do we follow? What the T&T team said to the infected person over the phone, or what our texts are saying through the app?

Hand gel works for the first three times and then you need to use hot water and soap
Do you have a source for this please? I have googled and can't find anything to say this is the case.
On this page www.med.umich.edu/ice/info.html it says
"How many times can I use alcohol-based hand rubs before I need to wash my hands with soap and water?
Some people have advocated that you should wash your hands after every four or five uses of alcohol-based hand rub. But, there is no reason to do this. If your hands feel 'grubby' or are visibly dirty, you should wash them with soap and water."
which goes against what you are saying.

So many people are confusing T&T with the app. The app is purely advisory and you can use your judgement depending on circumstances. T&T where you are phoned by a human, is legally enforceable and backed by a £1000 fine if you are caught not isolating when told to. They get your name by speaking to a person who has tested positive and who names you as a close contact. Once you’ve answered the phone to them and been told to isolate there is no excuse in law not to.
