Is lockdown over?

Thought I must have missed an announcement. House down the road had 8 visitors yesterday, another has got 3 today and they're only the ones I've seen.

OP posts:
Shesingsshangrila · 12/11/2020 12:55

Maybe move away from your net curtains...

Arielsgift · 12/11/2020 12:56

Pretty much what @Shesingsshangrila said

PickAChew · 12/11/2020 12:56

You need a hobby.

Juststopswimming · 12/11/2020 12:56

Have you ever considered a career as a covid marshall?

BurningEars · 12/11/2020 12:57

There are reasons why visitors would be allowed.

kittensarecute · 12/11/2020 12:57

Sadly no. This pointless, needless lockdown isn't over.

OgwdihwO · 12/11/2020 12:58

Is your name Karen?

WankPuffins · 12/11/2020 12:59

Call the police.

Or alternatively, mind your own business.

Arielsgift · 12/11/2020 12:59

I bet you couldn't wait to jump on mumsnet and tell us all this. How long have you been thinking up that title, OP?

Justmuddlingalong · 12/11/2020 13:01

You need to get organised OP. A bucket to piss in and a flask of tea should prevent you from having to leave the window at any point.

WankPuffins · 12/11/2020 13:02

If you time travel back to the end of March and post this, you’d probably get the response you are looking for.

howling at this
raviolidreaming · 12/11/2020 13:03

On behalf of Karens and women everywhere, this misogynist trope has to end.

OP, report them.

Shitfuckoh · 12/11/2020 13:04

A snack, a blanket & a comfy chair is needed to go with that bucket & tea!
I bet you can do a full 24 hour mission sitting there. Take a note book & pen so you can log it all too, will be needed as evidence of you being way too invested in what others are doing

Boredsilly · 12/11/2020 13:08

I don't think anyone cares anymore!

Jrobhatch29 · 12/11/2020 13:13

Neighbourhood watch strikes again. Keep up the excellent surveillance work OP... Hmm

Autumnblooms · 12/11/2020 13:15

I think the responses are due to people just not caring anymore. A bit sad, but it’s hard to get people to give up their lives and moments with loved ones for something they can’t ‘see’ personally. The news doesn’t really affect people anymore

Why haven't you phoned the police?
BigBadVoodooHat · 12/11/2020 13:24

Why haven't you phoned the police?

Because starting a pissy thread on MN is far more of a priority! Grin

Juststopswimming · 12/11/2020 13:24

Why haven't you phoned the police?

Do you really think this is the sort of thing the police should be dedicating time and resource to?

Arielsgift · 12/11/2020 13:26

Can't tell if the police comment is a joke or not ...

Do you stand by the net curtains with a notepad and pen to make a running tally?

Get a life FFS.

I heard it pays well

OP is right. Folk shouldn’t have lots of visitors and it is everyone’s business if they do because infections are easily spread in the home environment.

I don’t know what’s happened to MN lately. There seems to have been an influx of very vocal, unpleasant posters who for whatever reason have decided that no-one should follow lockdown rules and those who are concerned about the rules should be bellowed at and mocked. It’s like the way some groups of teenagers sometimes behave towards their peers.

I am a teacher. I wish people would follow the rules. Not just because I am, by nature, a rule follower, but because a rise in cases will impact on my students and my colleagues (and myself) and everyone else who is out in the workplace and vulnerable to catching Covid. It’s probably different if you are just sitting at home all day, which I assume is the case with some posters, as otherwise they too would wish to reduce infections so everything can open up again and the threat of school closures might be reduced.
