Do you think we are going in the same direction as France and Germany? And do you think schools will stay open if we do?

* I will feel happier teaching my classes knowing that thy aren’t going to restaurants/friends houses/non essential shops/cinema/bowling/soft play etc etc.*

Yes, that's why we're locking down. And of course people should stop their kids socialising outside of school.

They won't, because they see no reason why children who spend all day together in school shouldn't also meet outside school - because the communication around this has been so appallingly poor.

Sorry, but I think you’re being absolutely naive. They will still be mixing at each other’s houses etc, the people that are already mixing when and where they shouldn’t will just continue.[/quote]
I agree. It’s the mixing in homes that is going on with no SD and will still go on as many simply don’t comply.

'They won't, because they see no reason why children who spend all day together in school shouldn't also meet outside school'

Which is understandable to a point but teens don't tend to stick to their classes out of school, so yes there'll be a couple of friends from the same school but there'll also be kids from other schools meeting up. Social media means they all have massive friendship groups.

I blame the thick parents. I just cannot imagine saying 'oh yes have 20 friends round from various schools and households, great idea!' They're probably the same ones who will be 'fummin' at further restrictions not seemng to understand that if they had stuck to the very moderate restrictions it could have been avoided.

justanotherneighinparadise · 31/10/2020 16:17

Apparently it’s 5pm

Well aren't you nice.

I'd rather be thick than so downright nasty.

Lifeispassingby · 31/10/2020 17:28

@studychick81 you do realise the rule of 6 still means social distancing between the 6 though? So 2m or 1m with other mitigation?

Ilovecheese53 · 31/10/2020 17:34

@Kazzyhoward well the government is not going to announce a 3 month lockdown from now. I think we all know the routine by now..

TheHoneyBadger · 31/10/2020 17:55

The government can't even be arsed to turn up to their own party on time. Oh let's just keep the whole nation waiting for hours Hmm

GetOffYourHighHorse · 31/10/2020 18:01

'I'd rather be thick than so downright nasty.'

It's 'downright nasty' to call the parents who let their kids have mass sleepovers and parties thick? I thought I was being quite restrained tbh.

It's nasty to call anyone thick.
TheHoneyBadger · 31/10/2020 18:12

Even Boris?

GetOffYourHighHorse · 31/10/2020 18:21

'It's nasty to call anyone thick.'

Oh unclench. It's very mild in the circumstances. What would you prefer, 'I think the parents who allow their kids to have large parties and sleepovers are a trifle misguided and a tad silly'?

Unclench? Because I think you're being rude and nasty?

Misguided doesn't mean thick does it?

Such an ignorant pov.

GetOffYourHighHorse · 31/10/2020 18:30

'Unclench? Because I think you're being rude and nasty? Misguided doesn't mean thick does it?'

You think thick is 'rude and nasty' yet misguided doesn't suit either. You're a bit fussy arent you.

Anyway, i hope the intellectually challenged/selfish parents who allow parties and masses of teens round to their houses get reported and fined. HTH.

Intellectually challenged? I'm sure they're not thick I imagine they've just stopped caring and are sick of being judged by the likes of you.

I wonder if playgrounds will be closed again?

I’m guessing not when nurseries are open and playgrounds are outside etc but don’t know
Versace104 · 31/10/2020 19:49

Can we presume hotels and campsites are closed ?

Inkpaperstars · 31/10/2020 23:03

Playgrounds are staying open.

Hotels only if staying for work purposes ( poss limited other exemptions yet to clarified). Presume campsites closed unless some are used for those travelling for work?!

OverTheRainbow88 · 01/11/2020 06:39

@Inkpaperstars

Thank you. Where did you read that about playgrounds?

GetOffYourHighHorse · 01/11/2020 08:42

studychick81 · 01/11/2020 11:03

Anyone found information about if 1-1 private tutoring can continue in the tutor's home? It is not in the government guidelines linked earlier.

Inkpaperstars · 01/11/2020 11:38

@OverTheRainbow88, it was in the guidance on gov.uk
