Thought I'd make a thread for those of us who just tested positive within the last week to help each other through our covid journeys Halloween Smile

Hey, here are my people!
I’m day 4. I barely have a cough but the headache has knocked me for six. No taste or smell but that’s not stopping me from stuffing my face (sadly).
I feel kinda bad that three people in work have to isolate because of me Confused

I won’t tell you how many are off school because of my daughter. Blush

Sending get well wishes to you all. Rubbish day... in bed except for an hour where being up made me literally sick. My mum has dreadful gastric side effects with this and gallivanting and remotes at night that are making an otherwise very sound of mind lady feel very unsure of herself. Horrid not being able to see and help her

LavenderBee · 19/11/2020 20:51

Gallivanting?! 😂Hallucinating!
Ode to be gallivanting!

LavenderBee · 19/11/2020 20:52

Gallivanting and remotes....
Hallucinating and tremors 🧐

Cough is kicking in 😷 won't lie I'm sightly concerned at this new development..! Still can't eat because it goes straight through me! If I wasn't feeling so shit I'd look forward to Friday am weigh in..!

magnarocks · 19/11/2020 21:40

Hi all, hope I'm OK to join.

No positive test yet but have been isolating as was notified I was a contact of someone last week and as of today have developed a stuffy nose and now absolutely no smell and feels like my taste is going too. I can't smell anything, even strong coffee or ground spices.

I've got an online delivery coming tomorrow and am trying to work out what we may want to eat if this goes 'round my household and/or I become too poorly to want to cook. Any experiences? (I know this isn't a massive worry but I think it's helping me to focus on something other than symptoms.)

I'm getting a test sorted for tomorrow. Thanks in anticipation.

ScottishDream · 19/11/2020 22:23

@magnarocks We ate a lot of soup, quick and easy nutritious lunch, with fresh bread. Also yogurt with fruit compote. Also lots of cereal. Bananas, toast.

Turmeric tea (I drank one by pukka) helped me a lot too, it’s got an anti inflammatory a tip.

magnarocks · 19/11/2020 23:05

@ScottishDream thanks - really helpful!

IHeartKingThistle · 20/11/2020 09:15

@LavenderBee your poor mum. I'm really struggling with nausea and was vomiting last night, it's horrendous and I'm quite scared tbh.

incognitomum · 20/11/2020 09:17

Hi all. I'm back to normal after 2 weeks. Been to work again yesterday and got in this morning. I actually got some sleep.
I'm still taking vitamin D and zinc plus b12 spray. Magnesium when I remember.
Hoping for a better day for all those still poorly.

GreyishDays · 20/11/2020 09:31

Morning all, hope you’re all doing ok.

Anyone else quite sneezy and snotty? I feel like these are odd symptoms and wonder if I’ve got a cold as well.

itispersonal · 20/11/2020 09:55

I've just tested positive from a test of Wednesday, I had a negative test on the 12th Nov which was negative.

Don't have the typical symptoms , had a headache Tuesday morning- though had had one the Monday and Wednesday the week before - and had chills and then sweats Tuesday night, followed by a pain in the back, but again have had that for a few weeks!

A bit fuzzy head today but it is mainly my sinuses and gums which hurt today! Anyone else had this?

GreyishDays · 20/11/2020 09:56

I had a sore lower jaw yesterday, so close but not the same.

notroundthebend · 20/11/2020 10:05

Morning all, still feeling light headed and like I've done 10 rounds in the boxing ring! I can relate to the back ache from previous poster.. that was one of my first symptoms! I've also now developed a fizzy like nose 🤷‍♀️ not full on snot but it's up their making my eyes water. I'd like to feel better at some point soon..!

IndieTara · 20/11/2020 10:16

So I tested positive and isolated myself as per the NHS rules. My isolation period finished on Tuesday. DD has been at her dads during my isolation and he doesn't want her coming back to me until I've had a negative result.
So I completed a home kit and sent it back. The results came in this morning as inconclusive! So I have to apparently stay isolating and take another test but they won't send me another home kit as I've already had one.

SupposeItCouldBeMe · 20/11/2020 10:35

I’ll be out of the official 10 days tomorrow but still feel terrible. Absolutely exhausted most of the time.

How long have people been off work, and do you need some me sort of sick note after 7 days? I’m wfh since March, but at the moment I couldn’t concentrate enough to deal with work. Feel like that is a bit of a cop out at the moment though.

IndieTara · 20/11/2020 10:46

@SupposeItCouldBeMe it's not a cop out at all but I feel exactly the same!

justleavemebe · 20/11/2020 11:06

Can anyone tell me how long results come back after a posted test?
Posted mine yesterday so wondering how long it will take to get the results.
Thanks

Bonkerz · 20/11/2020 11:14

Postal test sent last Wednesday results Saturday morning

Day 10 here still feel poop. More head cold and temp here. Kids totally recovered so they will be going out for a walk later.

I have closed my buisness till 30/11.

GreyishDays · 20/11/2020 11:24

Ours were back oddly quickly. Posted 3pm, back by 5pm the next day.

You really don’t need to test. That’s crap for you.

I don’t think you should test again as you possibly could show positive while not being contagious.

IndieTara · 20/11/2020 11:27

Posted mine back 4pm Wednesday received results 04.30 today

IndieTara · 20/11/2020 11:28

@GreyishDays I wouldn't have tested again if DD had been with me throughout

magnarocks · 20/11/2020 11:44

Test in an hour. Feeling a bit rubbish and tearful (pls tell me I'm not being silly), can't taste or smell anything now. ☹️

Will keep you all updated.
