My single neighbour has a woman round

Neighbour is an eternally single batchelor - he appears to have pulled a woman and is getting her drunk in his living room (naaaice). He does this from time to time. I can hear them through the walls.

Without going into details he’s a selfish arse - should I report him? If I do l, he’ll surely know it’s me. Will anyone actually care?

Like a ‘can I wear this to a wedding?’ thread, if you have to ask the answer is no.

Eckhart · 25/10/2020 22:53

No, nobody will care. Nobody is interested in what you have to say.

BumbleFlump · 25/10/2020 22:54

TBH normally I wouldn’t give a fig. In fact other single elderly gentleman two doors down frequently has his lady friend round but he’s lovely.

The only real reason I even considered reporting my immediate neighbour is because he is in fact an arse, like I said.

I live in a flat where i can hear everything my neighbour does , there's no spund proofing. I can't stand him as he is rude.
I also live in a place where you're not allowed any visitors.
Would i report him for 1 visitor , no i wouldnt.
Covid is horrendous when you're single and live on your own.

Ritasueandbobtoo9 · 25/10/2020 22:55

Are you shagging him? If not keep you big beak out of it.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 25/10/2020 22:55

You can hear him getting her drunk?

I think you're a little too invested in your neighbours love life.

Are you a wee bit jealous that it's not you sitting there with a peach schnappes listening to a bit of Barry White?

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 25/10/2020 22:56

Really, you'd really report someone for having one consenting other adult in their home.

If you think he's a dick you should probably, er, not try to be a dick too.

Tigertotea · 25/10/2020 22:56

So you want to get revenge on him. No, don't try to sic the police on your neighbour just because you don't like him.

BumbleFlump · 25/10/2020 22:56

Are you shagging him?

Hell no! 🤣😂

Being 'an arse' isn't a criminal offence.

But at this stage I'm genuinely unsure whether you're trolling us or not. I sincerely hope that you are.

You sound like exactly the sort of neighbour that nobody would want.

This is so petty and weird of you.

annabel85 · 25/10/2020 22:58

Be responsible and phone the police

Tigertotea · 25/10/2020 22:59

Like do you honestly think the police haven't got anything better to do?

Whatwouldscullydo · 25/10/2020 22:59

Even if he's an arse id stay out of it you never know when u might need him to turn a blind eye for you.

You don't need to be besties but think ahead a bit...have eachothers backs.

See if he will pass you a drink over the fence or play truth or dare with you in the garden

whyareyoulying · 25/10/2020 22:59

Mind your business

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 25/10/2020 23:00

Are you an arsehole?

Then just no....

iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 25/10/2020 23:01

Just for clarification, the mere thought still makes you an arsehole

Lochroy · 25/10/2020 23:01

Eh? I thought most of mn was always holier than thou at obeying the law. What's happened to you all this evening. There will be anarchy next I tell you, anarchy.

Love51 · 25/10/2020 23:02

If he's eternally single by choice you might be doing him a favour - he might be concerned she's going to want to stay over, and he might not want to keep seeing her. "I'm sorry you can't come over again, my neighbour is the Covid warden" could be his perfect get out card!

annabel85 · 25/10/2020 23:02

Either report them both or neither
iamusuallybeingunreasonable · 25/10/2020 23:03

She's spying on her single neighbour and passed off he's gonna get a shag - all levels of weird

Love51 · 25/10/2020 23:04

Seriously though, don't call the police.
Firstly, it is a dick move.
Secondly, don't raise the stakes in an uncomfortable relationship with your neighbour. You have to live there!
