Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

Not in a million years. What a weird question!

Tana433 · 10/10/2020 17:20

Ok, i know i am missing the point of this thread but i just cant let this pass without comment so..............Toothbrushes (and Colgate ones at that) are a pack of 3 for £1 in Poundland. NO_ONE needs to be sharing a toothbrush, it is just gross.

wanderings · 10/10/2020 17:25

Is this thread a government-planted one, trying to normalise the idea?

Step away from these Orwellian ideas, people! Do not encourage them. The status quo of being brainwashed by Saint Boris and his merry men is bad enough.

WhatHaveIFound · 10/10/2020 17:28

Actually DH and I wore masks at home but only when we took food & drinks into our DD's bedroom. That plus lots of cleaning and hand washing meant we avoided catching Covid from her.

yawnsvillex · 10/10/2020 17:33

Yes. Full hazmat. Can't wait.

knittingaddict · 10/10/2020 17:45

I recognise your name op and am well aware of where you stand on CV, but this is ridiculous. "What about this extreme thing that will never, ever happen?" You just sound like a right twit.

Nordstrom · 10/10/2020 18:01

I am genuinely surprised at the number of people on this thread who cannot envisage this ever happening, when it is currently IlLEGAL for many to even see their own parents/children or allow another person to set foot on their property!

How do you think it would be policed?
Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 18:19

knittingaddict - why the need for personal insults?

OP posts:
Dowser · 10/10/2020 18:19

Jesus no!
Why the hell would you

Whatelsecouldibecalled · 10/10/2020 18:19

Seriously is there where the government are canvassing ideas. Feels like an idiotic ‘guidance’ the jokers would trot out!

Funkypolar · 10/10/2020 18:20

Nordstrom - exactly!

OP posts:
Nordstrom · 10/10/2020 18:22

I'm guessing they would rely on blind compliance and a good old dose of community 'policing' as mentioned up thread.
They can't reliably police a lot of the current restrictions either. Nothing would surprise me at this point.

toolatetooearly · 10/10/2020 18:31

I already wear a mask at home, made from the skin of my victims!

Treesofwood · 10/10/2020 18:43

They will enforce it by making it mandatory to go to quarantine centres if you don't. Australian Health Minister already on air talking about home being a safe place, but also a dangerous place. He also made a Freudian slip about New World Order instead of new normal Hmm

Treesofwood · 10/10/2020 18:45

To be fair, if you believe masks work and that you can be asymptomatic and infectious at the same time I can't see why you would wear a mask to protect strangers and not people you actually love.

Topseyt · 10/10/2020 18:46

@suziesue45

If its mandatory would we have a choice?
Who is coming in to look? Do you really think that the police will be coming door to door checking whether or not household members are complying with such shit?

The thing is, people can report others for having visitors because they can see them enter the property. They don’t know if you’re wearing a mask in your house or not though, do they?
namechangefail2020 · 10/10/2020 18:46

Lol, as if. Weird

Juniperandrage · 10/10/2020 18:47

@Treesofwood

Well apart from the fact that's clearly nonsense, how will they know if you are wearing a mask in your own house?

Treesofwood · 10/10/2020 18:47

@nordstrom I know what you mean. Can't see wearing a mask at home any more crazy than half of the new rules

Treesofwood · 10/10/2020 18:48

@junipdrandrage What's nonsense? The health minister bit or the masks if you love people bit?

BogRollBOGOF · 10/10/2020 18:48

The trouble is so many apparently batshit rumours have started this year then come to fruition 3 weeks later. Add that in with the headline data of upward trends and a core of society and government who seem to be on mission impossible to eradicate the virus and it's no wonder my heart sinks when an idea like this is mooted, even in jest.

No. No way.
I hyperventilate in the fuckers.
I lip read.
DS has autism.
They distort my proprioception so I'm more likely to have an accident, especially on stairs or handling objects like knives.
Benefits are miniscule when spending umpteen hours a day in the house, especially for a bog standard face rag that's used frequently and washed infrequently.

I wear a visor in public indoor spaces and attempt to put myself in those situations as little as possible.
I will not attempt to cover my face in public outdoor spaces. The risk/ benefits are not justifiable. As the evenings draw in, and the weather gets colder/ wetter, being able to only see a slither of peoples eyes is a major personal safety concern. It's an absolute gift to anyone with malicious, criminal intent and that concerns me far more than virus pot luck.
I will not cover my face in my own home and neither would my family.

Juniperandrage · 10/10/2020 18:49

The quarantine centres/health minister bit. Also they can't see through walls so how would they know?

PilatesPeach · 10/10/2020 18:50

I live alone so no but even if I didn't, still no!
