Would you wear a mask at home if made mandatory?

Just seeing if anybody would go along with it.

OP posts:

Good grief

Buckwheat80 · 10/10/2020 15:25

100% yes. Bring it on.

I'd also like to wear a compulsory hazmat suit in garden.

Smileyoriley · 10/10/2020 15:28

Don’t be so ridiculous. Of course not.

LadyCatStark · 10/10/2020 15:29

No why would I?

elfycat · 10/10/2020 15:37

If one of us had Covid symptoms or had been in contact with someone who had - absolutely. We've already worked out how to isolate a room/bathroom and where the food drop off point would be. I'm not sure how much use it would be but we would try.

DH works at sea, and there were Covid positive crew (luckily on the opposite watch to him) and one isolated in a house they were doing up with limited facilities (building site at the time) and slept in a sleeping bag, another slept in their shed in the garden to isolate from his family.

But if we're well, no contacts, been following all the rules and we should be relatively safe - of course not.

ihatelockdown · 10/10/2020 15:37

Absolutely not! I also won't be wearing one outside either!! Absolutely ridiculous

Heartbroken21 · 10/10/2020 15:40

Absolutely not. I don’t like wearing them in public.

friendlycat · 10/10/2020 15:40

This is just a silly goady thread. You know it’s not going to happen. There might be some instances such as visiting an elderly relative where it’s appropriate and sensible but otherwise no.

imfatletsparty · 10/10/2020 16:01

Well I live alone so I don't know who I'd be passing it onto...

suziesue45 · 10/10/2020 16:03

If its mandatory would we have a choice?

SoUtterlyGroundDown · 10/10/2020 16:05

I wouldn’t wear one and would contest the fines.
SoUtterlyGroundDown · 10/10/2020 16:06

Plus how on earth could it be made mandatory? Police knock on your door so you put a mask on to answer it.

Idroppedthescrewinthetuna · 10/10/2020 16:06

Honestly, if they did ask that I would shield again with the family.

LeanishMachine · 10/10/2020 16:08

Has this been suggested?

I'm still struggling with the fact that single use masks and gloves have become the norm, all the good work undone.

Haven't rates increased almost everywhere since masks were made compulsory in certain settings too? All the original guidance was that they need to be changed every 15 mins etc and now we have people wearing the same one all day/week, finding one in the car/bag when needed. Is there any evidence it's helping or even that it's not making things worse?

PutThemInTheIronMaiden · 10/10/2020 16:09

Stupid thread because this will NEVER...HAPPEN...To that end I'm not going to learn to toot 'God Save The Queen' out of my fanny either.

AgentCooper · 10/10/2020 16:10

Would I fuck Grin

HollowTalk · 10/10/2020 16:18

@SimonJT

When we kiss, share a bed, often share a toothbrush and have sex then I’m sure wearing a mask at home would be extremely useful.
I can't understand why anyone would share a toothbrush with another person.

Share a TOOTHBRUSH???
Frequentcarpetflyer · 10/10/2020 16:23

@Witchend

How would they check that?
Little camera on your governmemt issued Alexa - to keep you safe.
Namenic · 10/10/2020 16:25

Depends on the context. If I had to share a house with someone with Ebola I would. If I had to stay with a vulnerable relative and was exposed to COVID then yes.

BumholeJ · 10/10/2020 16:32

No.

PrivateD00r · 10/10/2020 16:36

@Funkypolar

But but but...do you want to pass on the virus to your household?

Wouldn’t be surprised if they banned sex with your spouse next.

Now there's an idea..... I am a midwife and we are flat out with lockdown babies, at least we would know a break is coming Grin
NicNac85 · 10/10/2020 16:41

Stupid question.

tigger001 · 10/10/2020 16:48

I'm sure the government would never suggest this, so no need to get worked up over, I'm happy to wear my mask outdoors in public as well as indoors though.
