What's all this Monday talk all about?

What now!!!
I'm in Lancashire in a local lockdown and I keep hearing people saying that things are going to change on Monday and there's been some sort of "leaked document" confirming so.
I've not seen anything confirmed and I'm not here to spread gossip... just wondering if anyone can shed any light? Is it about to get a whole lot worse for us lot in the north west? 😰

Talk of closing bars and restaurants in the North or areas of high numbers of new cases.

Paddingtonthebear · 08/10/2020 19:14

There’s talk of introducing no social contact outside your household in any setting, in the areas worst affected.

november90 · 08/10/2020 19:14

Is it a complete closure or limited opening hours like 6-6 do you know?
I actually rarely go out to restaurants and never to the pub.... but occasionally I like to take my little boys out for a drink/cake at the cafe 😫

There'll be a Monday announcement going into force on Tuesday.

november90 · 08/10/2020 19:18

Thank you!!!

Sounds horrendous. I hope they don't apply this to the whole north west, I think the umbers in my area are quite low still and have been for a while :(

If this was true would it apply to things like baby sensory and the gym? Or is there not enough info?

I've just paid in advanced - none refundable 🤦🏼‍♀️

The British news appears to be more concerned about America and Trump lately. I've not heard anything about any announcements.

Glitterandunicorns · 08/10/2020 20:03

@november90 whether your baby classes are affected will depend upon which tier your area is in.

AutumnleavesturntoGold · 08/10/2020 20:08

What does.. In any setting mean?

Hair dressers? Schools? Where? Shops?

majesticallyawkward · 08/10/2020 20:15

From what I've seen I think it will be further reduced hours for the hospitality industry and social gatherings but on a tiered system but schools will remain open.

I'm holding out hope that support bubbles and regular childcare arrangements won't be affected. The difference that has made to so many, including my family, is immeasurable. I wouldn't survive another period of complete isolation.

Poetf · 08/10/2020 20:16

It’s confirmed.

It’s not a leak.

Poetf · 08/10/2020 20:21

Pubs and restaurants will be closing.

november90 · 08/10/2020 20:36

@majesticallyawkward oh bless you. It's been such a tough year. I hope you're looking after yourself. You might feel it but you're not alone ❤️

Do you have a linked (that isn’t a press article)? And does this say which areas it will apply to?

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 20:38

Sorry that was in reply to @Poetf

Parker231 · 08/10/2020 20:52

www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-54464470

All the tv channels and press are covering this and they’ve been pretty accurate up to now.

Looks like there will be a traffic light system with different parts of the country in different colour zones with different restrictions. Similar to the NZ system.

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 20:58

I can see there is lots of press but it is still not confirmed what the restrictions will be and where they will be applied.

notevenat20 · 08/10/2020 21:01

Can anyone guess which cities will be in tier one or is there some clear criterion like number of people hospitalised?

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:04

Tier 3 is supposed to be the strictest.
Most press articles just refer to “the north” like one big homogeneous area but have seen in The Guardian “from Barrow in Cumbria to Merseyside, Greater Manchester, much of Lancashire and Yorkshire and most of the north-east, as well as Nottinghamshire in the Midlands”. Not confirmed yet though

LJC1234 · 08/10/2020 21:06

The Daily Fail has a map which claims anyone above 50 cases per 100k will be in the red which is pretty much most of the UK .

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:07

50!! The uk average is over 100.I thought they might go for over 200.

Bmidreams · 08/10/2020 21:09

Can you link to the fail map please?
