What's all this Monday talk all about?

What now!!!
I'm in Lancashire in a local lockdown and I keep hearing people saying that things are going to change on Monday and there's been some sort of "leaked document" confirming so.
I've not seen anything confirmed and I'm not here to spread gossip... just wondering if anyone can shed any light? Is it about to get a whole lot worse for us lot in the north west? 😰

A three tier system will be too confusing, especially if its ‘parts of lancashire’ ‘parts of cumbria’ I’m an educated person and I’m not sure what I’m meant to be doing!

LadyCatStark · 08/10/2020 21:15

@ceeveebee

Tier 3 is supposed to be the strictest. Most press articles just refer to “the north” like one big homogeneous area but have seen in The Guardian “from Barrow in Cumbria to Merseyside, Greater Manchester, much of Lancashire and Yorkshire and most of the north-east, as well as Nottinghamshire in the Midlands”. Not confirmed yet though
Oh they can fuck off with their “most of Lancashire” 😡 there’s hardly any bloody cases in my area. I’m sick of being lumped in with the whole county.
glitterelf · 08/10/2020 21:17

Were all buggered then.

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:18

The problem being if that if you close bars/restaurants in one area but not the neighbouring area, people just travel, as was seen in Bolton when the pubs closed and (anecdotally) everyone just went to Wigan.

SeaDreaming · 08/10/2020 21:19

Eep. I was hoping to escape again to the seaside before xmas (W Yorks to N Yorks, staying in a guest house, single traveller, train journey, not meeting anyone else). I'm assuming that'll come under non essential travel and hospitality industry closures? Confused

Kez0777 · 08/10/2020 21:19

@LadyCatStark we are the same, live in Kirklees which is massive and there hardly seems to be any cases where we are! There was one point where they split it down in to areas of Kirklees but now it's seems to be all just lumped together again!

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:20

As well as the devastating impact on the hospitality sector, I’m also personally concerned about the possible removal of childcare bubbles and the closure of sports/hobbies as that will screw my childcare up good and proper...

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:21

Anyway despite what pp say it is not yet confirmed what the restrictions will be or which areas will be impacted

ilovesooty · 08/10/2020 21:22

If you're in the red tier it looks as though there won't be support bubbles. Sad

RaraRachael · 08/10/2020 21:23

It might be the same shit we've just had announced in Scotland. My area has a whole 14 cases and all pubs and restaurants have to close at 6.

just timed nicely to coincide with the school holidays

Thanks a lot Angry

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:26

The press is all being based on a leaked memo from 30 September which is a long time ago, and it has apparently been debated and changed which is why the delay in announcing, so it’s not confirmed yet.
89redballoons · 08/10/2020 21:27

The daily mail "heat map" has everywhere with more than 50 per 100,000 people in the red tier. The BBC article earlier today seemed to say it would be placed with more than 100 per 100,000. That makes quite a bit of difference... I guess no one knows yet though.

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:30

The bbc said everyone over 100 would be in tier 2. I haven’t seen what the trigger is for tier 3 but I would guess at 200? Which is about 50 boroughs (out of 315) based on this link

QueenOllie · 08/10/2020 21:30

My area is v high so was expecting it. What about all the workplace transmission though? Companies are still having people in work who could WFH

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 08/10/2020 21:41

What makes you think that? Have I missed somewhere that says that?

MereDintofPandiculation · 08/10/2020 21:41

If you're in the red tier it looks as though there won't be support bubbles. Where did you get that from, please?

Poetf · 08/10/2020 21:44

@ceeveebee No, the press is based on the fact this decision was signed off by the PM last night.

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:45

What did he actually sign off on though? And for which areas?

november90 · 08/10/2020 21:47

Oh god this is so depressing. I just feel like we're all gonna be in a full lockdown all winter because it's early October and Autumn 😰

I want to know why the cases in a local prison are inflating the figures for my area. Surely these should be taken out since they can’t actually pass it on to anyone else outside the prison!

ilovesooty · 08/10/2020 21:52

I saw a chart of the green amber and red tiers today online - sorry I can't remember where. It claimed the amber and green had been signed off but the details of the red tier were still being discussed. However the amber tier mentioned exceptions for support bubbles but the red tier didn't.

ceeveebee · 08/10/2020 21:53

It’s from this leaked memo which is 8 days old and so not necessarily the final version (although @Poetf may know better)

People work in prisons and go home to their families though.
Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 08/10/2020 21:53

The bbc said everyone over 100 would be in tier 2.
His would the BBC know? Do you think they get insider information?

I haven’t seen what the trigger is for tier 3 but I would guess at 200?
I assume that is your guess based on tier 2 being over 100 though. If the press all have the red tier 3 as over 50/100,000 I'm thinking all areas in that tier will have their hospitality businesses temporarily closed.

Thank you @ceeveebee
