Corbyn trumps Cummings

Jeremy Corbyn ensures continued spread of coronavirus by attending non-socially distanced dinner party for 9.

Well at least it’s not just the Tories who think the rules don’t apply to them but seriously, what the hell were these people thinking?
Presumably they thought it they would get away with it until someone took the photo!!

Meanwhile I’m here explaining to my son why his friend can’t come over anymore Angry

Still doesn’t justify anyone else breaking the rules though!

Ferrier should be sacked ASAP! Npo way they can keep her!

ShinyGreenElephant · 01/10/2020 19:13

Exactly what @Guylan said.

Very disappointing of Corbyn but he's apologised straight away, and doesnt even begin to compare to Cummings, who still hasn't apologised in any way shape or form.

Rushjob · 01/10/2020 19:20

@MushMonster

Nothing compares to Dominic's Rose Garden performance. No even Despicable Corbyn! I think he has done it on purpose to get back into the news. I had not heard of him for ages!
They should have another press conference with the rule breakers. Then Beth Rigby can stand there and look like she’s sucking on a wasp again.
Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 01/10/2020 19:24

Margaret Ferrier's action definitely trumps Corbyn, Cummings, Kinnock, Jenrick, Prof Neil Ferguson, Dr Catherine Calderwood and co.

FFS, what is it with these people? For Margaret Ferrier to get on a train after being diagnosed as Covid-positive is totally reckless. To go into parliament and then get on another train is just beyond words.

I do think she should be sacked for her totally reckless behaviour. Who knows how many people she may have infected. They could carry the virus until it reaches someone so vulnerable that they die and it would all be due to her downright fucking selfish behaviour. In this case an apology it explanation is just not enough.

HeIenaDove · 01/10/2020 19:26

I wonder what public co operation will be like after this.

HeIenaDove · 01/10/2020 19:28

In the space of 24 hours after BJ saying flouters will be fined and going on about collective responsibility we have had a hat trick of flouting.

KenDodd · 01/10/2020 19:30

What Cummings did was definitely worse but both Jeremy Corbyn and Stanley Johnson who didn’t wear a face covering in a shop should both be fined in accordance with the law as any other member of the public would be.

I agree. Especially Corbyn because his actions were planned, Stanley Johnson might have just forgotten.

As for Cummings, he took a car full of covid the length of the country, complete disregard for public safety, and he has no regrets and doesn't give a shit. He IS above the law and he knows it.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 01/10/2020 19:31

I wonder what public co operation will be like after this.
We should cooperate with the rules. There is no reason for a race to the bottom.

MushMonster · 01/10/2020 19:32

Let's get them all sitting closely together, inside a tiny tent, no social distancing, no masks. They are more than six. This to happen in the famous Rose Garden! We will test they eyesight with some risky experiment. Boris can do the questions, let's see if Dominic can be as dismissive of Boris as he was on some jounalists on the day! Corbyn may turn a bit red here

KenDodd · 01/10/2020 19:33

Very disappointing of Corbyn but he's apologised straight away, and doesnt even begin to compare to Cummings, who still hasn't apologised in any way shape or form.

Would anyone believe Cummings was actually sorry though, given this gov record on lying, anyone who believes a word they say is a fool.

MushMonster · 01/10/2020 19:34

But this of travelling on public transport when you know you have it! This should actually be a public health offence. A fine will not do for that......

MushMonster · 01/10/2020 19:35

Cummings did not look sorry, not even sorry that he got caught....
He looked annoyed! How dare you peasants even question me!

HeIenaDove · 01/10/2020 19:36

@Itsabeautifuldayheyhey Nice try but i wasnt saying i wasnt going to follow the rules. I cant control what the rest of the public do. Im not Cummings. You know that right?!

RepeatSwan · 01/10/2020 19:38

@WhentheDealGoesDown1

I think this where I am, except the Corbyn incident probably risked greater spread, so I think it is on a par. But I agree that fines need to happen.

Wtf is going on??? It feels like it is falling apart.

HeIenaDove · 01/10/2020 19:39

I will be following the rules @Itsabeautifuldayheyhey Because im a much bigger person than the people you vote for!

BrazenlyDefying · 01/10/2020 19:41

except the Corbyn incident probably risked greater spread,

And both are trumped by the idiotic SNP politician who travelled from London to Scotland by train.

Oh yes, we have such high quality politicians representing us.

MissPoldark · 01/10/2020 19:41

Ok then, so I’ll do what I like and as long as I apologise afterwards —when I get found out— , that’s ok?

Her using the trains is risky. Other people in her carriage may have got off at all different stops.

MrsFrisbyMouse · 01/10/2020 19:59

Whilst what Margaret Ferrier did was bloody stupid, and should lead to her resignation.
It does highlight just how easy it is mentally convince yourself that 'it isn't covid' because I don't feel that bad/my temperature only spiked over night/I feel much better now/its just a ticket throat etc

lockeddownandcrazy · 01/10/2020 20:03

Yes he broke the rules, no where near on Cummings scale. S Johnson is just one of many who dont wear masks, or dont wear them properly, in shops so either everyone should be fined or lets not bother at all - no difference because of who he is

MRex · 01/10/2020 20:15

Her using the trains is risky. Other people in her carriage may have got off at all different stops.
Not to mention that it's at least a 5 hour journey with long stops, the length of time in an enclosed space with her would be much more likely to lead to infection than a brief bus or tube journey. Not that any idiots should be catching public transport at all with covid, but as risks go she picked one of the biggest. AND - having now read more details, she did it twice! She took a test on Saturday, broke isolation on Monday to go to London, got a positive test result and took the train back!!!
She's had the whip withdrawn, so it's a suspension so far, whether she'll be allowed back is unknown. She should be fined for both journeys though.

nancy75 · 01/10/2020 20:43

Nicola Sturgeon is not happy, I would love to have been privy to that conversation

HeIenaDove · 01/10/2020 20:47

I bet there was swearing.

nancy75 · 01/10/2020 20:50

HelenaDove I bet there was😂

x2boys · 01/10/2020 20:51

Tommorow,s press conference should be interesting ....
