I read it as rein in= stick to the rules.

Exactly this. He wants people to listen and follow the guidelines, not to make their own, more strict, rules regarding what is and isn't ok.

Travel to Italy is absolutely fine. People are acting as if he had told us we can't go but Carrie can. We are ALL allowed to go to Italy.

The hysterical judgements on this thread are fitting to the daily Mail link that started it off.

I must have missed the rule that said politicians families must have miserable holidays at all times

Lucked · 24/09/2020 21:14

Didn’t an airport In Italy release a statement that BJ had landed there which was denied by the government? What we don’t know is if it was to rat out Carrie or if BJ did go and visit them for a weekend.

ohthegoats · 24/09/2020 22:50

Wish someone would show those hideous twats how to use a baby sling correctly.

ohthegoats · 24/09/2020 22:52

the pressure she has been under has been immense

Cushioned by money, privilege, 24/7 support. Even the world's tiniest violin doesn't need a run out for her.

ballsdeep · 24/09/2020 22:56

That poor baby.
In both snaps of wilf in a carrier he looks so uncomfortable and it's all wrong. I bet ergobaby are tamping!!

AdoreTheBeach · 24/09/2020 22:59

So, it’s ok for thousands to take holiday to places where airbridge was Camus when they landed but is somehow not for her? Hypocritical some of you?

In my opinion though NO ONE should be flying anywhere. Massive potential for transmission of covid but I’m sure there hundreds if not thousands of MN readers who have jetted off if holiday this year (and who haven’t already had the virus).

They were holidaying on Mustique at the start of the year
@StatisticalSense

Why should the perfectly lawful activities that somebody chooses to participate in be open for criticism just because that person happens to be having sex with the prime minister.
The going away is fine. The social distancing which we are being told to do, she isn't. It makes a mockery.
Newsflash: social distancing isn't compulsory, so nobody's making a mockery of anyone (can't stand Johnson, btw, and disagree with every single decision this government has made regarding Covid and Brexit).

Carrie Whatnot is presumably doing what all rational people should do, and assessing the risk for herself.

Heffalooomia · 25/09/2020 00:04

Enormous baby with an adult sized head of hair and no life jackets 👀

KitKatastrophe · 25/09/2020 03:08

That article is incredibly badly written. It's all about the money.

At least three mentions of the "£300 launch", saying that the suite (which they weren't staying in) cost however much, quoting the prices on the hotel restaurant menu Hmm

Sounds like they reckon it would be fine if she was slumming it in a hotel ibis. This isn't about the pandemic at all.

redlockscelt · 25/09/2020 04:07

@herecomesthsun

Dunno if this is relevant, but flying to Italy is probably the fastest and most efficient way to get a covid test at the moment.
Oh come on, she's the PMs latest partner so she would get one at a click of her fingers. She's probably glad to get away from the bumbling buffoon.
redlockscelt · 25/09/2020 04:10

@crunchtimes

I thought Carrie & BJ had split up and he was shagging someone else now?
Oh no, I hadn't heard that, it's so sad. Shall I play a sympathetic tune in my violin?
Inkpaperstars · 25/09/2020 04:24

She is as free to go away as everyone else, but I don't think anyone going right now is very responsible.

If you were her though, would you? I definitely would not, with public morale so low I would try to put out a more supportive image.

Presumably she could be holed up with Wilfred and her mum at chequers with the grounds all to themselves, sounds good enough!
