Surely it can’t be that serious if BJ ‘s gf and baby are on hols in Italy??

''The Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) currently advises British nationals against all but essential international travel''

People will say she is entitled to a holiday. But this is taken from the gov.uk website. Its actually infuriating and gives out mixed messages

onedayinthefuture · 24/09/2020 11:59

I guess she was hoping not to be papped.

LindainLockdown · 24/09/2020 12:00

One rule for them and another for the plebs. Naturally.

ellentree · 24/09/2020 12:02

@loobyloo1234 which is followed by 'travels to come countries and territories is currently exempted' - including Italy

Chaosalloveragain · 24/09/2020 12:02

I saw this. I suppose that she's free to take a holiday. Does Italy have an airbridge?

It does feel slightly like rubbing the public's faces in it when so many are struggling. She was definitely not social distancing in one of those photos.

Emmie12345 · 24/09/2020 12:04

Really bad

Poor baby Wilf looked most uncomfortable in the carrier 😔

Chaosalloveragain · 24/09/2020 12:04

I don't think she's doing anything wrong.

It just feels a bit ill judged, when it hey need the public onside.

loobyloo1234 · 24/09/2020 12:08

Whats your point @ellentree ? The first line says all but essential travel. Just because some countries are exempt, they are not telling you to go ahead and go on holiday are they?

lifesalongsong · 24/09/2020 12:21

What isn't that serious?

The situation in Italy or job loses in the UK or something else?

Loads of people are still going abroad on holiday, I'm not a Boris fan but I don't see why his partner can't have a holiday within the rules

IWouldBeSuperb · 24/09/2020 12:25

Off topic, but that baby is HUGE! Shock

Cornettoninja · 24/09/2020 12:27

How? There’s plenty on here travelling abroad?

I think she’s daft both from a covid and PR perspective but she’s not doing anything wrong. She’s had covid already so I imagine she’s feeling protected to a degree.

Itsabeautifuldayheyhey · 24/09/2020 12:28

Loads of Brits have recently had and are still having holidays abroad. Why should the PM's fiancée and child and her friends be any different?
Ffs, her holiday in the UK with the PM was interrupted, forcing them to return home early.

I think you should only slag her off if you slag off everyone else who is on holiday.

SwedishK · 24/09/2020 12:29

The most troubling thing for me is that she is on a boat with her 4 month old and not a life vest to be seen.

rosie1959 · 24/09/2020 12:29

I cant see anything wrong she has gone on holiday like many other people
Nobodies business

The80sweregreat · 24/09/2020 12:30

Lots of people went away on holiday.
On a phone in on the radio the other day a man said he went to Greece with his partner who was a nurse! Are they 'papping ' her? Lots of my friends went abroad on August.
It's just nit picking by the Mail who have it in for Boris. As long as she followed the rules , what's the problem? ( I'm no fan of this government by the way!)

HolyMilkBoobiesBatman · 24/09/2020 12:30

Hardly “one rule for them and another for us plebs” when she was photographed by a British holidaymaker.

Ill-advised given her position of course but equally I think anyone travelling abroad right now is taking a bit of an unnecessary risk.

On another note, would someone PLEASE tell her how to put that baby in the carrier!

Gatehouse77 · 24/09/2020 12:31

By your reasoning anyone who's been on holiday since this started isn't taking it seriously. That covers all citizens not just the ones not liked or to score points against.

TheVanguardSix · 24/09/2020 12:33

Off topic, but that baby is HUGE!

Well, yeah! All that buffoon DNA! Grin

Joking aside, it's just ill-timed is all. She's not out of order, she is entitled to her hols like the next guy, but it does sit uncomfortably with a nation in crisis. It's just not a good message is it? And yes, the PM and his partner should be an example to the people. I know that sounds old fashioned of me, but they just should. I wouldn't expect Doris to set any example, but he should. His partner should. His huge baby should. Grin

herecomesthsun · 24/09/2020 12:36

Dunno if this is relevant, but flying to Italy is probably the fastest and most efficient way to get a covid test at the moment.

SionnachRua · 24/09/2020 12:36

I guess they can't be all that worried about money and affording nannies if she's off in luxury hotels then, can they? Phew. For a second there you'd almost worry that someone on a PM salary can't afford to live.

Yetiyoga · 24/09/2020 12:37

There are pictures of her friends holding the baby. So why are we still being told to social distance? One rule for them though isn't it.

SonjaMorgan · 24/09/2020 12:39

Thought the daily mail was reporting they can't afford a nanny as they are so poor. How do the readers cope with the constant change in narrative.

Jrobhatch29 · 24/09/2020 12:42

Haha yes, and has an insane amount of hair!

I can't get upset about this tbf. Maybe she just really needed a break from boris the buffoon

SchmooobyDoo · 24/09/2020 12:44

Too busy admiring Wilfred’s hair.
