Have state school teachers faced redundancy for not working during lockdown?

I recently read

I think those of us who work in the private sector understand we are going to have to work during periods of self isolation whilst juggling family. It was the same during lockdown. We want to keep our jobs so we will have to provide the service.

This got me wondering, is this a pressure state school teachers feel too?

Certainly at DC’s school no educational provision was given for almost all of lockdown (there were 6 key worker children in the school, out of 420).

All this grudge holding is not good for you. Your children are now in another school, move on. I think you now need some positivity in your life.

Thank you.

I really feel like I'm on the brink of depression. I've been here before. Please can you just stop OP? sad The situation is bleak and challenging enough without the teacher hatred

Just to be clear again, I don't think a single person on this thread hates all teachers. I personally don't hate a single teacher. Hate just isn't something we were discussing at all.

OP, please understand what teachers on here are telling you. Starting this sort of thread, along with some of your posts on other threads, is hugely damaging to teachers' morale. You can adopt the wide-eyed "oh, but I was only asking..." defence, but it won't wash.
You are seriously upsetting posters with your sweeping generalisations, at a time when teachers are facing great stress.
Please stop.

I don't think we are going to agree so let's stop this conversation. If you look earlier in this thread you can see my point of view which is quite different from what you expressed. You can also see the people who broadly agreed with me on that. I don't see any benefit in just repeating it.

Er, yes. The clue was in my post, where I said, "Please stop."

We know what your PoV is and you are now backtracking

Really? most posters early in the thread most posters said that teachers worked and that you had missed used the word redundancy.

I don’t understand this comment for a couple of reasons. But really, I don’t think there is any need for this. Please stop.

There hasn't been a need for much of what you have posted.

I'm trying to work out if you would like teachers to lose their jobs? Would it make you feel satisfied?

I think with how things are in school at the moment many teachers will leave voluntarily. No need for redundancy then. However some of us can't afford to leave our jobs.

You are aware that many of us had children home too?

Why are people still feeding this thread of hatred?
