The two who died were both under 50. As are the two with long tail.

JM10 · 30/08/2020 23:57
  1. And they didn't know they had it at the time, they had a positive antibody test.
Positivevibesonlyplease · 30/08/2020 23:59
  1. 2 had antibody test (NHS staff), but were asymptomatic. The 3rd was elderly and died.
Pomegranatepompom · 30/08/2020 23:59

Many colleagues but work in a hospital. 2 died.

Longdistance · 31/08/2020 00:00

5 (not tested but had symptoms, family working in NHS) in around March/ April time.
Deaths, one of a friend of a friends grandparent who was unwell with other things.

Billi77 · 31/08/2020 00:05

About 30 friends/colleagues/family members, all mild cases apart from 1 who was hospitalised. 2 friends lost their parents and my parents have lots 2 friends and have many were hospitalised, 1 is still in ICU.

And I currently have it for the second time but appear to be asymptomatic and so does my partner.
boatyardblues · 31/08/2020 00:06

Five who had positive tests, plus 3 immediately family members of one of them. Then 3 households who all had COVID symptoms in March, but not bad enough to require testing or hospitalisation. Two colleagues have also lost elderly family members to the virus.

middleager · 31/08/2020 00:07

High risk area. Work, kids in school, lots of contacts.

Two relatives died. Both were very ill and in hospital already - one over 70, one under 40.

One friend whose whole family had Covid symptoms in April (no tests), she developed the long version and had a fever and breathing problems off and on for weeks. Finally sorted with steroids. She's expecting to be invited to take part in a plasma trial so will get an antibody test then.

One friend who's just tested positive this week. He's asymptomatic, only tested because he wife felt unwell. She tested negative 🤷

And four other families who had serious respiratory illnesses just before or at the start of lockdown. No way of knowing if they were Covid or not. I might have had it, I had a lot of the symptoms in early March and it lasted well into lockdown.

All living in or travelling into London, or in key worker jobs. It's definitely felt very real to me.

Only 1, a relative who died.

EmilyDickinson · 31/08/2020 00:23

3 people who had positive Covid tests during the height of the outbreak (NHS)

5 people who had positive antibody tests later (mostly NHS)

2 people who are in the same households of the people with positive antibody tests and also had Covid symptoms

5 people with Covid symptoms where at least one person in the household was so ill it couldn’t really be anything else eg flu type symptoms and struggling to breathe

4 people with mild symptoms at the height of the outbreak that may have been Covid.

So 15 people that I’m fairly certain had it. All people I know well. Varying degrees of illness ranging from asymptomatic to people I feel should have been hospitalised. No one died but relatives of people I know well have.

hopsalong · 31/08/2020 00:31

Two people who had positive tests early in the outbreak, one hospitalised (fine now), one paid privately for a test (mild symptoms). Five doctors / nurses who have had positive tests since then. Three were ill (one for three weeks), two asymptomatic.

Three people, including me, who have had positive antibody tests. We felt pretty grim and it dragged on, but all have said it wasn't the worst respiratory illness / general illness they've had. I was much more ill for example with bacterial pneumonia and took longer to recover my strength.

I don't know anyone who has died or been in intensive care. But the people I know who have had it have all been under 60 (and over 30). This is in London.

I know one person with very debilitating ongoing symptoms that he attributes to Covid. But he hasn't had a positive test or antibody test and I don't feel particularly convinced that he had it.

0 from me.

KevinAndHerKits · 31/08/2020 00:37

3 close friends and relatives in separate households who were ill enough to be bedridden for days but not hospitalisation level. Two recovered after a couple of weeks, one has ongoing problems with blood clots several months later.

Since they had three spouses and four children between them it seems likely that many of their household members also had it but none of them had anything beyond mild cold-like symptoms.

In addition to that a few people on local Facebook group have had it - none with anything too serious.

SenorPeabodyEsq · 31/08/2020 00:38

10 confirmed cases in my circle of friends and acquaintances.

2 of them died (elderly), the rest experienced it like a bad flu but no hospitalisation.

So sorry to the poster whose parents both died. It must be horrible to see people calling it a hoax or 'not that bad'.

LooseleafTea · 31/08/2020 01:39

I’m so sorry for those badly affected .

I know at least 7 who’ve had it (in SE and London) and 4 are still struggling with long Covid including 2 children.

isitorisntit · 31/08/2020 01:47

I have had it. Long recovery. Confirmed antibodies. I assume my immediate family have had it. Probably 25% of staff at school. My best friend.

Ritascornershop · 31/08/2020 01:53

92 year old relative tested positive when in hospital for something else. She never had any symptoms though and is still fine months later. Other than her, 0.

Gooseysgirl · 31/08/2020 01:56

12 including two idiots who ignored advice and travelled to Northern Italy in early March Hmm Most of the rest are Londoners. Thankfully none of them died, but some of them had it pretty bad and still suffering side effects. I am dreading the winter.

ClinkyMonkey · 31/08/2020 02:01

I took DS(8) for a test as he had a high temperature after going back to school last week. Thankfully the test was negative.
