8 (1 unconfirmed)

polkadotpixie · 31/08/2020 02:13
  1. 2 of them in their mid 30s who felt unwell for a couple of days with flu-like symptoms but recovered quickly and are both now fine and 1 in late 60s who unfortunately died but did have extremely serious underlying health problems

I live in Leicester and work for the NHS so you'd expect me to know more really

AlwaysLatte · 31/08/2020 02:14
  1. Fingers crossed that people stick to the rules and it stays that way 🤞
Oncemorewithfeelin · 31/08/2020 02:15

2 people I would describe as former acquaintances both in their 40s, both hospitalised and one sadly passed away although I don’t know the circumstances if they had any underlying conditions.

Galaxxy · 31/08/2020 02:16
  1. 2 of which, including my DP, are still horrifically floored by it 3 months in, 3 died, 1 recovered easily.
Mogtheforgetfulmum · 31/08/2020 02:27

4 confirmed. One still suffering from serious ongoing side effects/health issues as a result- preciously fit and healthy and no underlying health issues.

Jenasaurus · 31/08/2020 02:28

4 - 1 paramedic, 1 teacher, 1 uni student and 1 occupational therapist, 2 sadly died.

Pixxie7 · 31/08/2020 02:54

Three family members. Parent works in a nursing home there so they’ve worked with number ours staff and patients with it.

EmmaGrundyForPM · 31/08/2020 03:52

8 adults, not sure how many children. The family opposite to us got it, and the parents were quite poorly. I'm not sure if the children had it as well.

One of our friends who is a GP got it before lockdown and was really affected by it. He is probably the fittest person I know.

I don't know anyone who has been diagnosed with a since May though. All my friends and neighbours got it early on. We live in an area with a very low infection rate.

3 (over 50) were ill but none were hospitalised and all appear to be back to full health now.

Everyone I speak to say they dont know anyone who’s had it.

I live in the middle of nowhere though.

Jocasta2018 · 31/08/2020 06:04

1 confirmed case in his early 50s - very mild case so needed a week off work then spent a week working from home. No medical treatment required & is recovering well.
My friend's mother is in a local care home. Due to random testing she, as well as other residents also in their 90s were discovered to be positive but completely asymptomatic. It has made no difference to their lives whatsoever!
My mother is in a care home & they have had 5 confirmed cases out of over 100 residents, none requiring anything other than bed rest. It has been carrying out weekly testing on staff & fortnightly testing on residents since the very beginning. All testing was paid for by the not-for-profit home. Very impressed with the level of care received.

Natsku · 31/08/2020 06:08

My parents and my brother (dad almost died with it), and my neighbour's grown up daughter, who is still having issues from it (she got it in April or May) but don't know anyone local who has had it as its only just reached my area (5th confirmed case on Friday)

sanityisamyth · 31/08/2020 06:18

1 maybe

Uhoh2020 · 31/08/2020 06:22

1 in mid March hes fine now, no one since not even a friend of a friend distant acquaintance.

redcarbluecar · 31/08/2020 06:23

One who was seriously ill, and then maybe another 15 or so (mainly around March/April) who had varying levels of symptoms.

TolstoyAteMyHamster · 31/08/2020 06:53

20 plus, in varying degrees of severity, including me and the DC. Only two had tests, one died. The rest had all the symptoms in mid March (we are in London) and three of them have had a positive antibody test subsequently.

Waxonwaxoff0 · 31/08/2020 07:50

Personally I know 3. One being my mum.

I know of 3 others. These 3 have died from it, all elderly with health problems.

Kitcat122 · 31/08/2020 08:08

My family. 3 very mild illness for a week. My daughter was very ill for 3 weeks then breathlessness intermittently for 3 months. I still have shortness of breath and chest pain 5 months on. Family friends teenage son hospitalized, dad mild symptoms, mum asymptotic but had a heart attack 3 months later that they now think is connected. All of us fit and healthy prior with no health conditions.

1happyhippie · 31/08/2020 08:15

I work in a carehome so know of a few residents who had it back in March/April.
Seven staff members tested positive, and a couple were unconfirmed (couldn’t get a test at the time).
Out of work I only know of one person who tested positive.
We are in the north west
