About 6 friends. 1 colleague, I know his parents both had it and his dad died...

rorosemary · 30/08/2020 22:48
  1. One was hospitalised for about 2 months and still not fit months later. Another was hospitalised 3 or 4 months ago and still not home (a neighbour across the street). I keep wondering if she died but don't know who to ask.
Evenstar · 30/08/2020 22:49

5 all recovered now, my friend’s mum died.

Beebityboo · 30/08/2020 22:50

Thank you @Cloudpop they were very old and some very poorly but they were still wonderful people who deserved a better end. I loved a few of them dearly and won't forget them, ever. But I'll never work in care again.

KitchenConfidential · 30/08/2020 22:52

10 that I know of, 3 of them died and 2 were nearly hospitalised.

stripes1 · 30/08/2020 22:53

Lots of people had it here just before lockdown-parents from school, varying degrees of severity but back then no one was getting tested-1 works in healthcare and later had a positive antibody test. One child from the school, 3 friends in their 30s/40s-2 really severely. One elderly relative in a care home died and 2 people I know more distantly their 60s (Ex colleague and friends MIL) also died.

tobee · 30/08/2020 22:57

1 in late 80s died in care home. The other 3 had varying degrees of illness. But none of those 3 had it confirmed.

LittleDoritt · 30/08/2020 22:58
  1. One died (very old), two have Long Covid and are still very weak months down the line, and one had it mildly and is fine. All in the first few weeks of lockdown.
africanantelope · 30/08/2020 22:59
  1. 3 have died 😢
BBCONEANDTWO · 30/08/2020 22:59

5 and one of them died (underlying health condition).

30daysoflight · 30/08/2020 23:00

Two, one who was very unwell for about three weeks and another fantastic person aged 54 who died. So bloody sad.

Chosennone · 30/08/2020 23:00

4 within my family. 1 elderly relative died (care home). 1 elderly relative on oxygen for a few days and now fine. The other 2 asymptomatic.
I know of 2 local deaths.
I know 4 people who have had positive antibody tests who were only mildly poorly.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/08/2020 23:04

None. My mum claims to know numerous people who have had it, but none who were tested - all fine now.

Zolaaaaa · 30/08/2020 23:05

DHs family live abroad and his auntie and cousin both had it, his cousin was pregnant and unfortunately died. I have known 2-3 friends/colleagues but work in healthcare so would expect to know more.

WhenPushComesToShove · 30/08/2020 23:06
  1. 1 nasty flu and 4 extremely ill, 1 left with life long health complications
ItWasntMyFault · 30/08/2020 23:09

1, she died.

RainbowMum11 · 30/08/2020 23:13

My NDN has tested positive for the second time.

I know of approx 12 others locally, and we are in a very low case area.

Consideredopinion · 30/08/2020 23:14

Friends partner definitely, he's in a Covid study now, another friend's brother - ICU right at the beginning, he survived thankfully, colleague of a doctor family member - in ICU for a month also recovered thankfully and a dentist friend, taken in by ambulance, tested, but sent home back at the beginning. So 4 for definite, a further two that probably had it but we'll never know as not tested but quite ill.

In SE.

OPTIMUMMY · 30/08/2020 23:16

Five people from work (school, caught last week before lockdown). Of those one was critical in ICU on a ventilator for weeks and had kidney failure with. poor prognosis, they have survived but it’s a long road to recovery. Another felt awful for 7 weeks, and spent a few nights in hospital. The other three didn’t need hospitalised, and recovered fully. My mum’s neighbour - only 40 years old was undergoing chemo but with a very good prognosis, was shielding and is believed to have caught if from one of the nurses - sadly died due to complications from it. Someone I went to school with lost three members of her family to it. So it is very real to me.

Nightmanagerfan · 30/08/2020 23:16

I live in London.

I’ve had it, so has my DS.

Other than us, I know 12 people who’ve had it. Two hospitalised, both in ICU but survived.

I had a mild illness but have had lasting changes to my sense of smell and taste.

MadameBlobby · 30/08/2020 23:17

@iwantmyownicecreamvan

Three (including me). Two were my parents - they both died.
This is awful, I’m so sorry xxx
joeysapple · 30/08/2020 23:19

I don't know anyone who's had a positive test but do know 5 people who have received positive antibody tests. None could really pin down when they could have had it due to no symptoms, apart from one who felt rotten for a couple of weeks at the end of last year.

ThatDamnScientist · 30/08/2020 23:19

Possibly 6 though we weren't all able to get tests.

1 of them who tested positive is a friend of a friend, she is still suffering months on.

Second was an older but healthy woman, all the classic symptoms and ill for months.

2 were young children (4/5) (but could likely be any virus as they weren't tested) both had high temp for days which was difficult to bring down, in same class at school - symptoms were about two weeks apart (one of them was mine and the second developed her symptoms just as school shut).

The other two were me and my eldest daughter. I had dry cough (lasted about a month) and breathlessness and fatigue (lasted two weeks) no temp (I'm asthmatic).

Eldest dd (teen) had really high temp and sore throat and tired - again no test, but ill for about a week - she was the first of my household to get ill at the last week of feb ( lI took her to the docs on 27th feb, three days into her illness as we thought she might have tonsillitis and need antibiotics (I know the exact date as some chump ran into the back of my car on way back from docs!).

Of the 3 in my house (DH had no symptoms etc) we were ill over the space of 6 week period and from last week in feb so could easily have been any bug but I do suspect covid, I am still using my inhaler much more than i ever did (during my illness I was taking my inhaler upto 10 times a day, 3 puffs at a time - previously I hadn't needed my blue inhaler for about a year). I now use my inhaler about 3 times a week but no cough or fatigue and all three kids have no lasting effects of whatever bug they had.

About 15-20! Brother who lives with us was in close contact with a guy who came back from Italy hotspot just before lockdown, was in contact with people before it was recognised including vulnerable and elderly! 3 were in hospital (fine now) 1 had bad symptoms (heavy cold but still worked) 3 including myself had a weird cold, lost taste, sweats, sore throat and earache, the others had mild cold symptoms, bit tired and achy, headache, the rest just felt a bit off! I'm apparently in the lowest infection rate yet we have the most tourists! No death's and since March no one in hospital yet we have the highest eldery population in our area!
